Huh, when I last watched a run through of this game (long long time ago) I don't think there was a secret level at all. Once you got all the gems in the last level it just gave you this last ending (and of course if you didn't have all the gems it gave you the first ending, I don't believe there was the second ending either but I can't be sure). Funny how things change.
