This brings back so many memories of all the trips I took to Memphis to party when I used to live in Little Rock in my early 20s. The road itself may be boring, but some of my best road trip memories with friends took place on this stretch.
The second half of I-40 in Arkansas is not as exciting as that adventurous, mountainous first half. It's so flat for about 100 of its miles. Looks so much like Texas' interstates. Only gets interesting when you approach the West Memphis/Memphis area. And there are a LOT of Love's Travel Centers off all of I-40 in Arkansas about 5 or 10 of them--I can recognize their red and green computerized tall signs advertising their gas prices!
That was nearly as exciting as the actual drive. Why post this? Yes, those of us making this trip several times a year already KNOW its the most boring stretch of road ever. Maybe if you were actually doing 130 or so and we could see your speedo: now THAT would be interesting. Maybe I'll do that next time.... (/jk)
I don't really enjoy this trip, even in 10 min., but I got a little caught up watching the center line and how it appears to move forward, backward or not at all depending on your speed.
Going to the Texarkana area three times a year and back up near Chicago, I've learned to love and have respect for this stretch of highway. It's the shortest the whole 13 hours.
Awesome :)

This was a great video... it's as though I drove the route without taking all the time.

Too fast for me. I like being able to read the road signs.
