In the Spanish language, the term for Moors is Moro; in Portuguese the word is mouro. There seems to have been some confusion about the relationship of the word moro/mouro to the word moreno (which means brown), both from Greek maúros, i.e. black. However, the two words have different etymological roots

in english we say Moorish the original name is Amazigh. thats the dnasty who ruled over half spain & Portugal.

We have a rich history. We where the original ras in half africa before the birth of christ. and it have nothing to do with the arabic till 4 centery's ago.

Thanks for the comment. You are not being difficult. I don't mind people asking for information. One of the best books to read is "Golden Age of The Moor" edited by Dr. Ivan Van Sertima. It's a fantastic book all about the history of the Moors. They were African people without a doubt. The name Moor has been traced back to the Greek word "mauros" referring to their dark complexion.

I am not trying to be difficult but I would like to read what he is talking about, I would like to see the evidence of the Moors being black and that they owned slaves from Europe etc would just. like to read for myself.
