But look at those rattles,they move like lightening,you cannot see them rattle in person and look how fast it struck,you litteraly wouldnt even realize you were hit until it had already coiled back again.

If something comes at them and they see at as a threat, regardless of what it is - they'll strike it. They have fair eye-sight and can still see something approaching o they try to defend themselves... my python will go a log if I move it out of his enclosure.

Alright, three things about this video are really cool to me;

A) The snake's iridescence. RAINBOW SCALES :D

B) How fucking STILL it keeps. It doesn't move at ALL o_o If it weren't for the tongue flicking and the tail rattling, I would've thought it was some taxidermy thing.

@cinnabonne In actual time,its a blurr making more of a buzz than a rattle,if you held the rattle in your hand you could not move it fast enough to mimic the snakes rattle,when hes totaly pissed,hes at full buzz,but often they may give a few quic "clicks" letting you that"I know your there,keep comming and theirs going to be a problem"And often they dont rattle untill after a strike.
