Cap and Trade does jack to the environment. If global warming is man made it will have no effect on the environment if there are no regulations on China or India. And since the Earth has been cooling for the last 11 years, I don't see why we need it.
You're correct about China and India. That's why I said in an earlier post "from what I know about the bill it doesn't do enough to curb CO2 emissions." I don't discuss global warming with people who don't believe in it. So let's set that aside. I lived in New York City when there was a lot of smog and it wasn't healthy. We are better now, and so, even if you don't believe in global warming, you should believe it is a reasonable policy to decrease the amount of CO2 in our atmosphere.
Plus, cap and trade would make fossil fuel consumption expensive. This would create incentives for people to conserve and investors and scientists to create new clean energy technology. This is important because this probably is the future of domestic manufacturing. Working on energy is probably not a job that can be shipped to Mexico. And the less money we spend on oil the less money terrorists and despots in the middle east will have.

I have to give this guy props for going out and doing his best to give people a chance to talk and help them understand his point. That is by no means, easy to do, especially when you're not behind the safety of a computer screen. These people who were asking questions seem to also be unwilling to listen to his points and reason. A bit like a mob rule, isn't it? Where's their pitch forks? I had a hard time understanding what he was saying though, I would have liked subtitles.

The VA and all manner of services provided to it/them is an entirely different budget and operation. It is ostensibly paid for from the defense budget. And to answer your question it must be brought up to par and vastly improved, which is OWED our VETS.
Frankly, I can't think of a better example than the VA to PROVE the case that gov cannot manage health care, even when it is constitutional obliged to do so.

I don't discuss global warming with people who don't believe in it. So let's set that aside. I lived in New York City when there was a lot of smog and it wasn't healthy. We are better now, and so, even if you don't believe in global warming, you should believe it is a reasonable policy to decrease the amount of CO2 in our atmosphere.

This is important because this probably is the future of domestic manufacturing. Working on energy is probably not a job that can be shipped to Mexico. Mike Castle is not the only asshole in the House, NO ONE read the bill before it was voted on, American voters MUST get rid of ALL the politicians, starting with local, city, state and Washington, these people do not represent us. There is only one way to get thier attention, vote them out, irregardless of party, and in the future make them accountable for every vote they cast in our name.
