  • salamat...

  • the only problem i have is with nes it load ups mario bros but i cant seem to assign the joystick or buttons too it, again ill work on it, it works fine on my pc keyboard.

  • I have it all sorted out now, it works perfect. i just know need to purchase an LEDWiz.

Thank you for your time and assistance

  • even if i were to select mame in maximus and hit "tab" to select keys it wont recognise joystick, i move left or right in the tab menu and nothing happens, if that makes sense.

  • @breakdancer1967 can you play mame with no problems? all buttons work?

what happens when you input your buttons in maximus arcade setup?

what operating system are you using?

  • hi, i have setup maximus on my arcade running mame, nes etc. I am using an Ipac for my joysticks (top of the rage Sanwa) and led buttons. maximus doesnt recognize my joystick. the weird thing is i can toggle from left to right to select an emulator. buttons wont work. I dont ahve an issue with mala Fe. i prefer to use maximus. id appreciate your help

  • How difficult would it be to get the maximus arcade theme you have DeLuSioNaL's Ultra Arcade?

  • do you have to buy it

  • @gwee11 yes you do.

it cost's $25 but you can use it for 30 days for free.

  • just got my tank stick, running MA and Mame and some other emulators. When I use the con fig tester on xarcades website all buttons work OK. I have read the book and just cant seem to get it working with Mame? slider is on 1. Did you have to do any programming with the tank stick to get it to work? If this is to broad of a question can you point me to some good info online. Thanks man, great video.

  • @eddiepeay no i didn't need to program anything. plugged it in right out of the box. you need to set your buttons up in mame. load up a game in mame and hit "tab" go to "input general" then "player 1 controls" configure the buttons you want to set it too, and your all good.

let me know if it worked.

  • @trixster6d9 thanks man will try that tomorrow. Ill let you know. Sounds like you might have to do that for every game?

What nes emulator are you using btw. I am using virtualnes. it works fine but never goes to full screen on launch. I am willing to use another if you know of a better one. Thanks for the help again.

  • Thanks so much for making this video. I plan on starting to build mine tonight.

Will this work with a keyboard? I know thats not really ideal for this type of setup, but I want to play with it before I buy a controller.

Also - do you have any suggestions for which controller to buy? I'm on a very limited budget (like $25)...I don't know if I'll go past SNES, but maybe some PSX.

    Thank you!

  • @Oisterboy your welcome,

yes this will work for your keyboard.

are you going to get a arcade controller? or a playstation like controller?

    x arcade sell's 1player models for under $100

or you could get a logitek controller for around $25

  • @Oisterboy If your looking for a playstation type controller, I suggest a "logitech cordelss rumblepad 2" I got mine on sale for $20 CAD. Been using a pair of them for years, and they are great!

I've used mine on several versions of windows including XP and W7 x64.

And on all sorts of emulators from ATARI, Nintendo , Playstaton, Sega, Dosbox, visual pinball, mame, PC games etc....spanning over 30-40 different emulators using maximus arcade and several other popular emulator frontends.

  • @Oisterboy Also, get a program called Xpadder, and watch some tutorials on youtube for it. It's very easy to use, and one of the most important programs to get if your into emulators, as not all emulators will allow you to use a game controller.

Xpadder will allow you to map all of your game controllers to any key on your keyboard and mouse. For Example... I use my Logitech controller as my mouse, and have set up keys for my windows media player, so I use it as a remote control basically.

  • @janX9 Interesting. I'm having trouble getting XP to recognize my PS2 controller...I have a USB adapter but it won't recognize it...I tried installing the drivers, still got nothing. IDK. Its a project on the back burner for now anyway.

  • @Oisterboy Yeah, I've never tried a real playstation controller. I don't know why the drivers aren't working.

"logitech cordelss rumblepad 2" is my controller of choice though. Once you project is off the back burner, you should get one. They are great. I live in an 1100 square foot apartment, and I can use it anywhere at home. Great for a music controller when I'm away from my PC.

  • @janX9 I'll be sure to check that out. Thanks!

  • does anyone know if there's a way to not make the videos take so long to load? when you set it to show a video for each game it takes forever to load and you can't move the cursor around..

  • thanks for doing this video! it is very helpful

  • your welcome :)

  • how do you make maximus full screen? mine is centered in the middle.

    thanks

  • you need to change the resolution in maximus arcade till it fits the screen properly.

  • does it use any variation of MAME? MAME++?

  • yes, i think.

  • How set-up MSX emulators =( its really confusing and bad instructions at maximus arcade site

    plz reply

  • msx emulators?

i have never used a msx emulator.

are you talking about psx playstation emulator?

  • what version of maximus arcade is this, is this the 2.10? What are the specifications of your PC?

  • hi,

    it is 2.10

my pc is a 2.4 ghz amd x2 (their version of a duel core)

2 gigs of ram and a 300 gig hard drive.

  • Thanks mate, perfect tutorial!

  • how do you do batch files

  • i have done batch files before, but i am having a problem with them working after i exit maximus arcade.

  • trixster6d9, Have you managed to figure out batch files yet?

If you have figured them out, would you mind doing a copy n paste of some of your batch files?

I'm mostly interested in getting xpadder or joytokey to switch profiles while loading a game, and turning off when exiting a game, but any batch files would help. :) MA's forums haven't really been helpful.

I'm running W7 and MA 2.092, if that makes a difference.

Thanks for your time, and have a great day!

    janX

  • hi JanX,

i don't know much about xpadder or joytokey or how to use this in a batch file.

as for batch files, i had issues with it a while back and just recently got it working.

i will post a video in the next few days on how to make a batch file

  • Thanks trixter I appreciate that, but don't worry about it. I upgraded my MA to the newest version, and figured out the batch files.

The reason my batch files weren't working is because the file names for my Xpadder profiles had spaces in them and this confused windows. So I simply renamed my xpadder profile names without spaces, and that solved the issues I was having.

And the new MA that I have allows for pre/post-launch of applications, whereas my old version didn't have that option.

  • First off, let me say that all your videos have helped me out a lot with problems I was having while setting up my MAME cab so thank you. Are you using Windows

XP or Vista and is it 32 or 64 bit?

  • thanks for the compliment. i am glad i could help you out with the problems you were having.

i am using windows xp pro with sp3. i find this operating system runs everything the best. also i don't have any problems with the x arcade not exiting with this operating system.

  • Nice Vid. This vid is long overdue.

  • thank you.

  • thanks for that man, now i just need to repair my second arcade stick and im all good to go.

ive been searching for something like this for a while its put an end to a long journey haha.

    cheers!
