I have worked on transport trucks with a transport truck this is a very easy fix! it simply has to do with adjusting the clutch where the slave cylinder is. it seems that that clutch is not traveling all the way down to engage properly! because when you step on the clutch twice it works that means when the clutch is pushed the second time thats when it goes all the way where it suppose to be and it engages. again i'm not sure about the similarities since i haven't really worked on these cars.
Is this your first manual? This is normal for this to happen if your stopped, and trying to shift to first. When you are stopped no gears are turning. So if they can't mesh, one may have to move a little. let the clutch out for an instant and back in. Or just always remember to shift to first just before you come to a stop each time. That way with one set of gears turning slightly it'll just sliiiiide right in. OOps didn't see you cheeseball. Oh well I'm sending it anyway. lol
@c6rocks dude seriously... I was born in Europe got my drivers license in Europe! We do not have automatics.. When you are stopped clutch in its supposed to go into first how else are you supposed to move.. What oh my clutch is not aligned let me get out of my car and push to align it? Maybe you should drive non gm cars b4 you say that.
@cheeseball247 not true!!! I have driven many manuals never had the shifter stick ever.. this is called a clutch bind and it indicates severe problems. Look at my other videos to see proof of poping out of gear and syncro problems ...
For the record did you drive a BMW , Audi, Peugeot , Renault, Lada, etc...
Um nothing is wrong here. Learn how to drive a manual. Just cuz the clutch is in, when your not moving there is a small chance 1st won't be lined up properly. A small roll will fix, or clutching twice. Common on every car
@matrox finally after 9 months gm aparently traced the problem to the slave cylinder. Don't know if the clutch is worn out its not like I can see it... But yeah this issue with the camaro transmission is well known. BTW i don't care who manufactures the transmission i bought a GM ...
i had the same issue with my car ,a nissan silvia S15 the problem was the Slave Clutch Master Cylinder was worn/gone replaced it & all sweet

@Legionaru666 I kid you not... my last GM car, it wasn't uncommon for me to have to rock it back and forth so I could get it into first.
