Keep it up ....!!! very good! Volodia and the only way to live his texts in our hearts! EVEN IF NO ONE IS AS PER SO SING. And touch her heart the people with his songs in the deepest! He has met with his lyrics, even against the tyrant regime of then ligens! Rest in peace Volodia
Keep it up ....!!! très bon!
Ruhe in Frieden Volodia
Merci beacoup, Yves, tres jolie.
I love this version, both the vocal interpretation and the contemporary rich orchestration. Though very different from the original version (which I also love), I think it stands well on its own while paying honorable homage to Vysotsky.
I think it lacks passion. Adding the industrialist beat really just takes away from the soul of the song. Interesting recording. I just wish it had been done with a little more passion.
Interesting rendition of one of my favorite songs. I know people will compare him to Vysotsky, but that is unfair. Vysotsky already showed how this song is performed, and no one can improve on that. But that doesn't mean others shouldn't provide their own interpretations. Desrosiers is more whimsical, while Vysotsky is a raw cry from the heart. Listening to Desrosiers gives me a new perspective on Vysotsky and keeps him fresh, which is why good covers like this never detract from the original.
Anyways, on topic, Desrosier's performance of the French versions is great. I am not sure why did he choose to record the Russian one... for what audience?
bitch i like Vysozkij but this dude is ruining everything.....don't tell me about the meaning 'cause this wimp can't even speak Russian how can he possibly understand "the deep and profound"
Vysozkij was writing his own songs and how a person who can not even speak Russian (I mean evgenii manev)could possible write verses in Russian, he can not even pronounce it right!!!!
I like it. It touches me and reminds of the unforgetable Vladimir. I am a slav and it gives a pleasure that western people like and try to immitate Visotzki.
Think that your posted video is good attemts for conjuctioning ot west and east culture!!! But my feelings that are somethings missing! Some expressions or passions which are so character for slavonic peoples and especially for Vladimir Visotzii! But your efferts worths!!! Congratulations!!!

This comment has received too many negative votes show

I wish you people would stop referring to him as "Volodia." He was VLADIMIR VYSOTSKY, a poet. Period.
ThySentinel 3 years ago
Well, he was 42 when he died you know, and would be 71 now, so for some people who are older, he will remail Volodya (not for me)
alexandril 3 years ago
He will only be "Volodya" for his close friends and relatives. For the rest of the world, he should remain "Vladimir Vysotsky, a poet."
ThySentinel 3 years ago
Well I am against any categoric prescriptions ;-)
Anyways, on topic, Desrosier's performance of the French versions is great. I am not sure why did he choose to record the Russian one... for what audience?

he would say the same! Your performance is yours, not his - and this is wonderful!!!

If i got you wrong then im sorry.

I just said that I'm playing the bass guitar in the bulgarian band O.X. (oxbg at my space) and that I used to write _my_ songs. Nothing more.
