oo congratz , umm it really depends every japanese person knows some english , but learn the basics like can i eat this and can i use the toilet/shower , but my firneds who is an exchange student got an american family as her host family so they always spoke english , it really varys mabye ur family will speak heaps , mabye they wont , but i sujest u learn the basics and u will pick more up as u go , how long u going for??
