I'am a Mac but the reasons why i keep using windows it's for MCE,Gaming and Server functions , the vista MCE has a very good stability and recording capabilities, so i record my favorite shows and i saw them on my mac in my room with FrontRow, By de way the best of the both systems.

Because you can normally take a laptop or a HTPC and hook it up to a TV and make it your own custom DVR. I have one sort of like it.

My PC is hooked up to my 40" HDTV and I watch my DVDs and Blu-Ray through it as well as game on it. Although I wish WMC supported Blu-Ray but thats coming soon.

windows media centre is the worse joke in the entire history. good luck trying to change tv stations fast and you cant even tell if the tv is being recorded or not unless you alt tab out of media centre to check the status bar.

LOL@macs... Windows machines are much more compatible with software than macs...Windows are much more customizable... The only good thing about macs are there security...which is pretty strong...But at the end of the day windows machine are a dominant force in the computing world ....So good luck in your mac community where they want you to use computers how they want..not how you want

Why does this old computer happen to load windows media centre as soon as they clicked the button, yet my brand new 2.8ghz dual core extreme with 4gb DDR2 800mhz 8800M GTS 512mb ram can't load it within 10 seconds?
