I got a test Dlink DI-524 router (not hooked up online) with a WEP password of "0123456789" about 3 feet away from my MBP. It's collecting Unique IVs at a rate of about 15-20/minute. Is this normal?

hey there great video but I've got a few questions maybe you could answer them:

I'm running v0.3.3 on 10.7.2 Lion and kismac seems to freeze up every time I hit 'start' using the airport extreme passive driver mode. I tried running version 0.2.99 but that won't show all the networks when I search

also, I've got an RTL8187B chipset usb dongle and when I plug it in and try to run kismac using that driver it gives me the 'ol "could not instantiate driver" error...any ideas?

@FuckAUserName718 "Card" would refer to your WIFI thingy, most likely it's a Broadcom. On your Mac it's called "Airport". you can find the exact type with System Profiler. Airport is ok, without being great. Otherwise, the rest of the info is on the blog. Address in "more info"

Hey.. I am running this on a mac book pro OS Lion... Everytime I select airport passive mode then click start scan... then try to click the drop down for "encryption" (or anything else for that matter) Kismac becomes unresponsive. Then I have to force quit. Any suggestions? Using KisMAC 0.3.3

I think searching for all the channels at once was overwhelming for my apparantly awesome almost 4 thousand dollar mac book pro.. -.- Now i have a problem with the unique IV thing.. I'm gaining about 1 unique IV for every 30 seconds.. so to get to 130,000 I think you said? That's kind of ...a waste of time. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

@DrowningYourMother KisMAC is a highly unstable programme. I ran into the same problem with my MB Pro. The way I fixed it was before starting to search for networks, I put in a nonsense search string (my usual one is "xxx") before scanning. *AFTER* stopping scanning, I got rid of the search string, showing all the networks, and then just picked my target out of the list. Just one of KisMAC's MANY idiosyncrasies, but maybe the most important one.

KisMAC was able to load the driver backend for Airport Extreme Card, but it was unable to create an interface. Make sure your capture device is properly plugged in. If you think everything is correct, you can try to restart your computer. Maybe your console.log and system.log show more details. ........ it show me this message! what can i do?? 640.000 packets

147.000 Unique IV´s

Collected 150 MB data

Injected 100 packets

checked 16mil keys.....

My network is set to WEP

Running a week scheduling attack..... no luck so far....
