It kind of does if you look at it from a girls point of view(since guys can't exactly be 'wives') I think the song is talking about a guy cheating on her or doing stuff that she doesn't want him to, like flirting maybe. And she's saying how it's hurting her and it's killing her and that the relationship can last longer if both parties work together instead of the girl trying to maintain it by herself.
