In regard to his point on time and language, it seems to me that we want to be able to predict the future because we have not realized the foolishness of it.
Nevertheless, I don't think this is totally impossible. Maybe we manage to do it someday, if we build a satisfactory model of reality that comprises every single aspect of existence, and thus allows us to predict the "next move". But, in this case, I think I would kill myself.
I love that dialogue flows seamlessly between clips from all throughout his career. It's a very clever way of making his point manifest through the video itself.
The whole essence of Zen consists in walking along the razor’s edge of Now, to be so completely present that nothing that is not who you are in your essence, can survive in you.
@11010646 Yeah.. Jimmy Page, Sandy Denny, each member of Egg (my favorite musical group), Alan Watts, and three of my closest friends. I've always held astrology to be a pseudoscience but archetypal astrology is becoming more and more interesting to me..
Funny how it says at the end "PART TWO: COMING SOON". I guess, 'SOON' never comes, because 'time is always NOW' :)) Eckhart Tolle must be proud of this guy
Haha...very good video. I guess, this is to say, what Eckhart Tolle means when he says "You, are the Universe expressing itself Through this form"...kinda similar concepts.
Alan Watts was amazing. When I moved to Mill Valley, California in the summer of 1978 one of the television stations would play one of his lectures each day and I was immediately drawn to him - only to discover he had died five years earlier. All these years later he still inspires me and I never tire of listening to him.

This is wretched. The last thing Alan Watts needs is to be "remixed." The stoned hippie who posted this is an asshole and should stick to what he does best: sitting at home, collecting unemployment.
@Jackinthehizzle ; I think you'll find that you're in the minority with your opinion. If my memory serves me correctly, i think it says in this that his son, Mark Watts, was involved in the making of this. . .
If you look into the history of the Bible and the formation of Christianity, you may come to the conclusion that if the person labelled Christ was real, he no doubt had a 'Universal Consciousness' experience (like other people) and tried to express it to people within the framework of the language of the times. He was killed for saying such things.
I find 'religions' details to be all relative. As Watts says about language and ideas, these are often seen as the real thing themselves.
Expertly mixed, well done! I love Alan Watts. I think this stuff is important and totally relevant to life today. The whole human condition is based on the assumption that we exist as separate egos. How much strife has this egoic consciousness caused!!
Yes. Consciousness is one. However, there are incompatible egos fighting for their version, instead of TRUE INTEGRATION. There is at least a theoretical basis for a releasing and many practical means to achieve liberation from the unreal. Although, to call something real, takes a lot of guts, and one has to be right, in order to call something real!

@thegreatujo Eckhart Tolle gets his wisdom from the same place, is kind of unfair he gets so much credit as if he invented those ideas.

Question:
Should one believe that everything is moving into a blank future void of energy, forced by time, or is already moved?
