This takes place during the events of Halo 2 when the Eltes were still allied to the covenant, so why aren't the elites in this game? somebody please shed some light as this story ahppens as the covenant ship retreats via slipspace and master chief and the others pursue it.

@Alexcarter27 If you look at, the carrier took the elites and left the brutes to do the dirty work. The Prophet of Regret was not a fan of the brutes as they are primal, while the elites was still prefered as guardsmen for the prophets.
