Two of the most amazing songs composed in the world. Ennio Morricone is a genius. I also love his soundtrack to the movie "The Legend of 1900". It's also perfectly beautiful and touching!
I play this for my hardened, pierced high school teens and they role their eyes as I float away on the beauty of this music.
One day, perhaps, a few of them will say, "Wow, that teacher knew something other than algebra..."
It's not always about grades and term papers- there is much more to life, and this music can take us to BEING someone on this planet- perhaps with a lust for life...
Thank GOD there are still teacher like you, trying to instill some sort of beauty and grace into their pierced, pathetic lives. Much like being a parent, kids cannot see or understand what is good for them. That's why being a parent/teacher is so hard. We're there to TEACH them, not to be their friends. That's what friends are for. JUST KEEP IT UP!!! Even if you touch just one-it's all worth it to pull them up from the dregs of society!!
@sheracad, I hear you and in a similar situation but 5 years older, sob, This music lifts me on bad days also. I hope there is light at the end of the tunnel for you, at least you give a damm!
@Trajan730 hi same for you too, read Echart tolles - 'New earth' its life changing. i've read it and changed me!!. see this type in to you tube:- Eckhart Tolle - Interview on The Hour with George Stroumboulopoulos. but get the book!!. Love & blessing to you. S
@sheracad Some 20 years ago, like you, as Aristotle described, I was also in a state of ignorance, surrounded by nothing, living nothing feeling nothing. The next stage of life is just over the horizon where you will recognize who you are, what you need - and all that you have been through make that enlightenment so much brighter. I moved to a village in the south of France , so fortunate to find a good musician walking with me to that world of creativity which music offers
@sheracad In my fantasy I see a just world Where everyone lives in peace and honesty I dream of a place to live that is always free Like a cloud that floats Full of humanity in the depths of the soul In my fantasy I see a bright world Where each night there is less darkness I dream of souls that are always free Like the cloud that floats In my fantasy exists a warm wind That breathes into the city, like a friend I dream of souls that are always free Like the cloud that floats
...e pensare che non ha nemmeno preso l'oscar per questa meravigliosa colonna sonora "The mission"...nel 1986 lo assegnarono a Herbie Hancock per il film "Round Midnight"...mah!
Love the sound this oboe player makes. Wonder what make oboe he's using. F# and G seem to be a bit sharp though. I don't mean to be overly-critical, just something for the performer to be aware of. Beautiful sound though.
I saw the movie 20 yrs ago and although I've already forgotten the movie plot...the music has stayed with me all these years....With it comes the remembered emotions about the movie...really great music...it made the movie great, too.
@kopynd1 Not all music has to be technically difficult in order to be effective or considered good. I love music from the Romantic Era, particularly Rachmaninov, Wagner or Tchaikovsky, but a good melody can also be more simplistic, not so heavy and even slower in tempo. It's a different emotion that is being represented. A talented composer can take a simple melody and make it sing, make a person feel a particular emotion. You don't need complicated music to be effective.
@kopynd1 i Know its not something like THE Rach 3 but then the Rach 3 isnt as pleasing as listening to this, the rach 3 is astonishing it is a real piece of art but man for me this beats it anyday, another thing, i challenge you to write something as good as this kind of music
la belleza de esta compocicion junto con el bellisimo sonido de el oboe , la genialidad del oboista y la orquesta es como escuchar un canto celestial brabisimo
@kopynd1 your dumb, and mentally slow, this is one of the best pieces of music ever written in the history of music, seriously. ITS SUPPOSED TO BE SLOW. its not a march, its a concert piece, seriously. learn to listen. jeez. do you want this music to be fast? its adding dramatic effect to the music. retard.
ho fatto suonare questa musica meravigliosa al mio matrimonio..il 18 giugno 2011...in omaggio al genio del grande maestro Ennio Morricone. Ogni volta che odo queste note, mi commuovo.
ragarso...thanks for this precious video of both Morricone's pearls.... it cleans our soul after seeing the bad news on TV everyday all over the world...
@enea0629 Sometimes an oboe player isn't available, or, it's because the piece is so beautiful there ends up being many arrangements of it for other instruments. I just heard a beautiful arrangement of this piece for euphoniums.
@sr14225 Yes I know about that... I just got furious that some dumb people think this was originally written for "flutes" and doesn't even know what oboe is.. it sounds unrealistic, but yeah it's real..... D:
@hexcane And Cortez was a saint man?? Simple power and take the land of them. Those are the peoples who are not like Moctezuma, join the spain. There are always be a persons who dislike the actual law. The fact is Spain don't have the rights to do so.
2. It's what they did in their country is their own business, Spain acted as America, beatific all the country (the conflict in Iraq). If you have your own country keep it, and don't disturb others. That's my opinion
3. I wonder if You want a foreign country (army) to cross the ocean and make their own rules on the land that isn't theirs.
The fact is that it lets thank Christianity, which almost killed the Incas theirs decisions, who knows maybe today continue to live, and do not need to be doing tours to learn about their culture. Thank you for killing the history of South America Hispanic invaders.
@Mercedes600SEL no it was the spanish empire that killed off the Incas, christianity or the Catholic Church played a part but not all christians and not all catholics, you should direct your comments to the spanish people/government not christianity. protestants played no part in killing off the incas.
