Hey Vikas! I forgot to tell u...I like your way of talking/anchoring/presenting/you name it....
It is very lively, not-too-fast, not-boring-at-all, not-confusing, not-too-out-of-the-league....simply great!! I am going to check more of your uploads now..Keep rocking!!
Hi Vikas!! YOU MADE MY DAY!!! I love cooking and I follow all kinds of recipes. But dishes like this are better learnt from road-side stalls and commercial snack points like this.
I AM FOR SURE going to make it today....I will have to look for a video that teaches how to make paav bhaji masala. But...I WILL MAKE IT NOW man!
You may also add some color, which is coal tar dye to get cancer in the long run. In the short run it will inflame your mucus membranes making your prone to infections and colds and in kids it will cause hyperactivity and behavioral problems, adults may only get a bit angry and display aggression. With people using these toxic colors(which for our bad luck has been approved, yeah the govt approves them and they are not corrupt at all) so callously eating outside is like committing slow suicide
No food is never unhealthy as long as you keep yourself fit and dont eat the same thing all your life, your body tells you your condition, listen to your body it tells you everything, that also goes for drugs.
@HyPeRtRaXps3 yeah then I challenge you to eat that entire bottle of food color they put in that pav bhaji and lets see how healthy you will be.
Being healthy helps, If you are fit your body will be able to eliminate the toxins you eat much faster. But I think its pretty stupid logic to knowing eat unhealthy food and toxic chemicals just because your body can eliminate them. When your body eliminates them there is a load on your liver kidney and pancreas. You may not fall sick but in the long
continued....but in the long run these organs will suffer and give you problems. That is why athletes in USA especially are not healthy once they retire.
Even though they are fit they don't have good skin cause all the toxins find it hard to come out through the skins. There is a limit to what you can eat. in USA even health supplements contain toxic chemicals and fillers and that is why athletes are like that and oh, don't forget they eat way more meat and fast food.
@rajsanand i agree with ur healthy eating n taking care of ur body comments..but ur analogy of american athletes is totally wrong. the reason they have health issues in the latter part of their life is because of the trauma their bodies are put thru and the intensity of their training methods. They need to eat the amounts of food they do because of their lifestyle..when u do 4+ hours of weight/sport specific training everyday u need to provide ur body enough fuel for recovery and maintenance
hi, quite a nice video...though I must say that I personally prefer the the pa bhaaji in office areas such as fort or nariman pt to juhu...can quite imagine the hot pao bhaaji with butter mopped up with the pao right now
lots of people get disgusted over the amount of butter here. If you dont take extra spoon of butter he put in final plate, the rest of the butter he used made more than one 2-3 servings/plates. So final serving does not have more butter than other seemingly normal dishes. People who dont know cooking always get disgusted when they see amount of fat that goes in real cooking- be it on streets, restaurants, food channels or at home. Fat along with protein and carbohydrate makes human palate.
Hey Vikas ,thanx for uploading the video ,me being married into a family where my mom in law is a gr8 cook jus next to being a chef, has always been a little tension for me wenever i got to cook something so wen i made pavbhaji exactly the way shown she was for all praises for me ,thanx once again :))
Traditionally how is the Bhaaji's consistancy supposed to be? This looks like it is really mashed up to a puree and on other videos they say not to mash it up too much. Is it just personal?
@genie121 the consistency could vary...at times, it's this real thick paste...at other times, you could come across a few small pieces...but essentially, the individual ingredients are unrecognisable.
Hi!! I'm a novice to Indian or Pakistani food.. so my novice question is, why do they mash up the veggies into a paste? I watched a couple of food stall videos of Pakistani/Indian food and they're usually a paste, why is that? Curious..
@sweetchunks22 yeah, you are right, it is same as asking the questions why indians and pakis wash their bottoms and not use tissue paper. or why indian and paki men (not all) squat while peeing.got it?
@goozoo49 Not really. I can't decide if you're dissing me or honestly asking a question so idk if I should be rude or not because if you WERE making fun of my question, I'd assume you took it as a racist question, somehow? Which would be rather silly, I think, since I AM ignorant of Indian and Pakistani culture and ways in which they consume foods, HENCE my question to knowledge myself so that I don't turn into a racist or listen to stereotypes. But if you weren't dissing, my answer's still idk.
@sweetchunks22 sorry gal, i dont read beyond a few lines. i did spot a racist word somewhere though. no i dont think you were being racist. but mashing food beyond recognition is as big a question as the ones i have mentioned about india culture. Though the word PAKI is a racist word even for PAKIS.
this is very unfair vikas ji...you should'nt be eating lyk that....u r making all of ur viewrs really jealous...dats bad...lol...keep up the gud work!
A large portion of north indian dishes are made in cream, half of India loves paneer. Practically all dishes in most international cuisines have cheese in them or red meat or some really unhealthy crap. And this makes people bawl ???
A little butter?? That right there is a piece of heaven served on a plate :)
Thank you so much for posting the video dude. I prepared it today, just like in the video.. and it turned out superb!!! My parents were amazed at the taste.
I simply used the blender to mash the vegetables. It was effortless that way.
Again, thanks to you and also to 'Murali Bhai' for that simple recipe! :-)
hey man can you try to upload for masala pav and dabeli too please it would be very helpful ..thanx man this pav bhaji recipe rocks..i mean it really rocks
i tried this Pav Bhaji at home....it tastes really great.....n use 'bedagi mirch powder' istead of normal mirch powder which enhances the color of bhaji n it is less spicy also.......
you must do one for MANCHOW soup! I was only in Mumbai for 6 days and everyday more than once, it was Manchow Soup and Pav Bhaji in various places around Mulund West and Thane. Great food for great people.
wow that's a lot of butter. Interesting recipe though..I've never had an Indian recipe that called for everything totally mashed...having some texture always seemed to be part of the experience. And the buns, I totally wasn't expecting that.
HI Vikas, Thanks buddy, This is the best pav-bhaji recipe I ever get. Thanks for uploading it, I have tried this recipe several times and it taste so good, I feels like India in USA....Thanks for your efforts..

@phelmonsamson whats up fucktard...last time i heard paki dogs were beggin for more money from the US and IMF....hope that gets u a little bit of the "low grade protein" too.
@MrP1ayer7 Your comment further proves my point. Very uncivilized and primative. The fact still remains that this is junk food.It is to fill stomach of the masses rather than providing an nutrition. This is evident from the fact that India is 3rd world country, where 75% or more of its population lives below poverty line. U dont need to be abusive & emotional, if u cannot face the facts.I hope they'll start teaching some manners in India.
@phelmonsamson so you come to youtube...to a video about the preparation of some random indian street food, to do what?....harangue on how indians are uncivilized and primitive? how the fuck is it even relevant to the video numbnuts?? however it sure does say a lot about you and possibly ur lot of isi brainwashed brainfarts. btw a quick, back of the envelope calculation tells me that just the top 30 richest indians have a networth equal to the entire paki gdp. just sayin douche ;)
@MrP1ayer7 Your comment again proves my point. You use abusive language, are incoherent, finger pointing, & downright uncivilized. This conversation has become completely unintelligent, as such, I won't be responding to ur useless comments anymore. By the way, being rich does not have anything to do with civility. Chaghez Khan was a barbarian but very rich. Moreover, it is failure of a society, if out of billion only 30 people become richest, while most of the remaining live below poverty line.
its yummy!!!!!!!!!!but we cant make this at home as it is difficult to make a dish by dish.Atleast at home we make it in bulk so difficult to follow this receipe.
omg i used this recipe... and made my pav bhaji.. with less butter ofcourse.. but yummm omg.. it was ditto stall taste.... it was the best... thanks vikas for your effort of bringing us this mouthwatering recipe to us... I am fortunate that even though i live in usa i will be able to enjoy this favourite dish of mine...
This germs phobia is killing more people than actual germs these days :) .. Japanese' immune system has become weak due to this, and they fall ill whenever they go anywhere else. So take basic care, but don't be too fussy and enjoy food .. I love road side paav bhaaji :)
hey vikas,,, I was craving for paw bhaji like redi one.. as i m nt in india soo i tried couple of times.. and wen i made according to ur videoo.. i wasss soooo happyyy nn proudd of me.. !! YOU did thee biggessstt favor on me.. LOL Thankss buddii!! GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!
@need4peace they are the dried green peas that have been boiled & kept aside for use, it's called vatana. It's very cost effective, for you don't have spoilage as in fresh peas, & are available all year round.
@aparaajita10 Ahh...OK!! thanx for enlightening me!! But I have seen people put 'green' peas (which are indeed quite green) into the bhaaji, at least from where i come from. Dont know about bombay....
@need4peace I know, personally I use fresh green peas too. But u c street food needs to keep the price down. I have seen the dried green peas used even in the homes both in Hyderabad/Secunderabad & Mumbai. U r welcome.
@aparaajita10 I hope the hygiene is not compromised in order to bring the "prices down"!!! Its funny I saw in bangalore where these dried peas were actually coated with green colour haha...I boiled them and the water was all green...
@need4peace LOL...That's a risk we take all the time. Believe me, I have lived in all sorts of places outside of India for the past 20 yrs, incl UK & USA, & have found hardly any difference. I used to frequently eat street food on the streets even in the cities in Africa...but here I am, so far no complaints, acute or chronic. & since those used in this video look more white, at least the color is not a risk here.
@aparaajita10 Really?? they use that abroad too?? I always thought the food would be more hygienic outside India but wow!! thanx for this breaking news!!
@need4peace O Ye? think again. Have u ever heard "Haathi ke daant khaaney ke aur, dikhaney key aur"? Believe me, the street food in India, for all the brickbats it gets (as u can see from a lot of posts here itself), is much healthier (not to mention cheaper) than most of the street food sold abroad, especially in the o so great countries. Not to mention, a whole lot more delicious.
@aparaajita10 donno about you but I have seen them make them in a very unhygienic manner here!! hmm...may be our tummies have become immune to that you reckon?? lol. I was once eating gol gappa and the gol gappa wala was about to scratch his groin area and I was like "wait!!! feed me first and then you can scratch" lol
@need4peace I've never eaten street food in USA, for they don't have anything much by way of it. In India, I stick with the pav-bhaji, alu tikki/ragda-pattis, kulche-chholey, etc, which is cooked right in front of u, & the hi temps of cooking (at least i think) destroys most of the hatmful stuff. Here, the waiters in the restaurants r known 2 do o food stuff u can't even imagine. In delhi, I usually go to the Bikaner house, I've'nt bn sick so fa. I guess, a few pollutants won't kill the strong
@aparaajita10 hey kulche choley is my fav too ;) dont think one can get that taste anywhere else in the world?? oh the high heat does kill germs but they cant get rid of lead and pesticides right?? I got typhoid once eating these street food so am kinda inclined to believe they can raise the bar :p "Won't kill the strong"?? hahaha.... way to go!!! are you gloating btw?? jst kidding!!
@need4peace by strong I mean who keep their health in good condition. U can't get the same taste anywhere else. I think the pizza, burgers etc taste real aweful in India. I don't drink water anywhere, In India, I carry water from home, or take limca. Well, for taste, I d take som chances. The only time i got sick was eating food cooked at home:) now go figure. Typhoid comes from water, so stick with hot tea, coffee, I don't buy the pesticides & lead story: EAT LESS, the only solution
good stuff vikas..i,m frm mumbai now i live in the uk n am constantly looking for some indian recipies...love indian food...wud look forwrd to sum more videos of yrs...sum butter chicken perhaps
@chirosuju Not if you give it a little bit of thought. (1) It's not something you have every day, (2) you don't sit on your ass all day after this, (3) and usually, this is followed by a train ride or a work day (or both) that will probably make you lose 1/2 of that butter.
Hey Vikas...Really great video..This is the best pav bhaji recipe video I have ever got online..Keep uploading this kinda(roadside) recipes online..Thanks..
go take ur wanna be western ass to a salad bar then. I love how health freaks like you... get on the net and start harpin on nutrition. Your health goes bad... when u eat this type of food and DO NOT EXERCISE. As long as u exercise, you can eat whatever.
As far as "unidentifable" in shape... do you also bitch and moan bout things like... Spaghetti Sauce, Potato Salad or other puree'd foods??
I bet Paj bhaaji is healthier than choco cake and Pizza or Fries.
hey ... nobody said to like or even eat this food if you don't want to. this video is especially for those who love pav bhaji. its not that we don't know its unhealthy but we don't give a damn care if its healthy or not. i have been eating pav bhaji for 20 years now and have never fallen sick. and mind it ... my BMI is perfect !
if you don't like such food don't watch such videos !! and yes, please keep your "healthy" comments to yourself !
I actually tried this tonight for dinner Vikas, but I am not as good of a masher as he is, and I couldn't get my veggies fully mashed, but nonetheless it was yum yum in my tum tum! thanks for the great vid
@silentbahamabeauty Which part of "TOO MUCH BUTTER" do you not understand??? If you are that needy for attention on a thread that you've already lost, then I suggest you go to your mama and ask her to breast feed you some more. I don't have time for idiots who NEED ONE MONTH to think of a reply. Now fuck off.

This germs phobia is killing more people than actual germs these days :) .. Japanese' immune system has become weak due to this, and they fall ill whenever they go anywhere else. So take basic care, but don't be too fussy and enjoy food .. I love road side paav bhaaji :)

those green peas arent green. they are somthing else...
need4peace 1 year ago
@need4peace they are the dried green peas that have been boiled & kept aside for use, it's called vatana. It's very cost effective, for you don't have spoilage as in fresh peas, & are available all year round.
aparaajita10 1 year ago
@aparaajita10 Ahh...OK!! thanx for enlightening me!! But I have seen people put 'green' peas (which are indeed quite green) into the bhaaji, at least from where i come from. Dont know about bombay....
Bye "__"
need4peace 1 year ago
@need4peace I know, personally I use fresh green peas too. But u c street food needs to keep the price down. I have seen the dried green peas used even in the homes both in Hyderabad/Secunderabad & Mumbai. U r welcome.
aparaajita10 1 year ago
@aparaajita10 I hope the hygiene is not compromised in order to bring the "prices down"!!! Its funny I saw in bangalore where these dried peas were actually coated with green colour haha...I boiled them and the water was all green...
need4peace 1 year ago
@need4peace LOL...That's a risk we take all the time. Believe me, I have lived in all sorts of places outside of India for the past 20 yrs, incl UK & USA, & have found hardly any difference. I used to frequently eat street food on the streets even in the cities in Africa...but here I am, so far no complaints, acute or chronic. & since those used in this video look more white, at least the color is not a risk here.
aparaajita10 1 year ago
@aparaajita10 Really?? they use that abroad too?? I always thought the food would be more hygienic outside India but wow!! thanx for this breaking news!!
need4peace 1 year ago
@need4peace O Ye? think again. Have u ever heard "Haathi ke daant khaaney ke aur, dikhaney key aur"? Believe me, the street food in India, for all the brickbats it gets (as u can see from a lot of posts here itself), is much healthier (not to mention cheaper) than most of the street food sold abroad, especially in the o so great countries. Not to mention, a whole lot more delicious.
aparaajita10 1 year ago
@aparaajita10 donno about you but I have seen them make them in a very unhygienic manner here!! hmm...may be our tummies have become immune to that you reckon?? lol. I was once eating gol gappa and the gol gappa wala was about to scratch his groin area and I was like "wait!!! feed me first and then you can scratch" lol
need4peace 1 year ago
@need4peace I've never eaten street food in USA, for they don't have anything much by way of it. In India, I stick with the pav-bhaji, alu tikki/ragda-pattis, kulche-chholey, etc, which is cooked right in front of u, & the hi temps of cooking (at least i think) destroys most of the hatmful stuff. Here, the waiters in the restaurants r known 2 do o food stuff u can't even imagine. In delhi, I usually go to the Bikaner house, I've'nt bn sick so fa. I guess, a few pollutants won't kill the strong
aparaajita10 1 year ago
@aparaajita10 hey kulche choley is my fav too ;) dont think one can get that taste anywhere else in the world?? oh the high heat does kill germs but they cant get rid of lead and pesticides right?? I got typhoid once eating these street food so am kinda inclined to believe they can raise the bar :p "Won't kill the strong"?? hahaha.... way to go!!! are you gloating btw?? jst kidding!!
need4peace 1 year ago
@need4peace by strong I mean who keep their health in good condition. U can't get the same taste anywhere else. I think the pizza, burgers etc taste real aweful in India. I don't drink water anywhere, In India, I carry water from home, or take limca. Well, for taste, I d take som chances. The only time i got sick was eating food cooked at home:) now go figure. Typhoid comes from water, so stick with hot tea, coffee, I don't buy the pesticides & lead story: EAT LESS, the only solution

For the amount of butter used to make this dish, im surprised alot of indian people are thin
chirosuju 1 year ago
@chirosuju Not if you give it a little bit of thought. (1) It's not something you have every day, (2) you don't sit on your ass all day after this, (3) and usually, this is followed by a train ride or a work day (or both) that will probably make you lose 1/2 of that butter.

@preethivinod
go take ur wanna be western ass to a salad bar then.

@PhantomAct My mistake. I guess you couldn't follow the comments. A little complicated for you???
silentbahamabeauty 9 months ago
@silentbahamabeauty Which part of "TOO MUCH BUTTER" do you not understand??? If you are that needy for attention on a thread that you've already lost, then I suggest you go to your mama and ask her to breast feed you some more. I don't have time for idiots who NEED ONE MONTH to think of a reply. Now fuck off.
