@lirpa1959 I agree with almost everything you've stated here, except the ending part of your comment about bartering and sharing. Simply put, sharing is something people do when there is no big or deathly gain or loss from the act of trading goods or services or living things directly between either individuals or parties, which requires only one side to agree - however, when it comes to bartering, it requires both to be in agreement. Meaning, bartering in reality is more sensible...

Sharing is not always caring, because if that were true, then those who do share better understand that they should not expect anything in return for their benign and gratuitous gesture, even if they're in poverty because of it. Bartering, however, is more wholesome in approach, because one has the ability to define and agree with what they will gain and lose, instead of just giving or taking away as when one shares about.

Realistically, the only important thing to know is that cartels systematically advance their own interests. If they can make huge gains by driving prices of something up, then why not try?
