As a geologist, I can see you have no background in this subject other than what you have read on the internet. I argue that the levels of C02 rising through the 20th century are a classic negative correlation with rising average world temperature. At one point during the 50's to 70's the world temperature actually dropped. Humans contribute only .28% of greenhouse effect. Rising CO2 an effect not a cause.

It's an ABC / History channel documentary and explains things pretty well in layman's terms. This should clear a few things up for you.
