degreaser works great yes, but it can be corrosive (diluted or not), I am a cyclist and to clean our bikes we use citrus based products...non-corrosive and equal if not better then a degreaser...just a suggestion. give it a try. it works amazing for me! as for powerwashing the bay, I do that also, I just stand further back as you did! great vid, thank for making it detail, but fast!!
I use a pressure washer on my WRX engine bay all the time (Like a Boss) never had any problems...I like the idea of using a leaf blower to get rid of excess water and help dry the engine bay.
2,000 views? should be 200,000+. Great video's on detailing, im watching these detailing videos series until it ends and already learned more than I knew.
@onbooSTihooning You are a little misinformed but don't take this the wrong way. I'm not bashing you, just don't want you to run into problems or have other people follow this and do the same. Driving in the rain is not the same as pressure washing your engine directly. The engine compartment sees very little water even in heavy rain. With a pressure washer you can force water into electrical items/connectors and cause problems down the road. Stick with a regular hose and gentle spray.
@iggyg22 The battery and just to the left of the engine there is an electronic housing unit. I think that should do. Don't soak the engine, just a light spray.

@blackiec6 Thanks for the info! I agree. I don't soak the engine and never would, but a light spray won't hurt it.

@GPNY100 I went with an electric pressure washer from a local hardware store. Inexpensive and perfect for what I do.

If you were to cover the electronic parts, which parts should be covered with plastic to avoid getting it wet? Thanks
