It didn't really happen on the books and movies, but I personally think it should've. I completely agree with you. Ron just didn't seem to fit well with her. The two are very opposite. Extremely intelligent with the well...not so intelligent, Draco, while being quite opposite of her in some ways I believe, if circumstances had allowed they would have worked out much better.
