The word is "orchestral" and your opinion is your own. I personally think that it's just a lack of a large enough band and professional musician to play it. If the Big Band of Rouges can make a high-energy latin beat out of the old SMB theme, then there's no reason that Sonic 2's boss theme can't sound every bit as good with proper instruments and arrangements.

You can transpose a note or 2 down to fit in if you can't get that high and I can see the trumpet player got a red face and there some sour notes. Good job and good tempo

Yeah, the horn was a little 'meh' at times, but the trombonist really did a good job throughout, I think. Good performance, and the if you keep the tempo at that mellow pace it's OK -- so long as you get the notes right. Nice addition of the victory tone, by the way.

I think that is how the opening is suppose to sound. I personally would like the trombone player to play it down an octave, but I think that 6 position is a pain in the ass, unless using a tenor trombone with the F trigger.

Well, trumpet was waaaaaaaay too sharp. If you aren't a player who can hit high notes, then don't arrange the piece that way. If you want to work on range try some pedal tones and lip slurs because those first 6 or 7 notes you played were in between partials and sounded pretty bad. You got better as the song progressed though. Nice trombone! Just a few missed notes.
