I totes love love radiohead, this is one of my favorite performances by them, but I am also gonna give props to the drumline. I have play on a drumline for while and playing something jazzy and low takes a lot of control on an "outdoor" instrument.
fuck. this is cool. thanks for uploading this. I was gutted when it got pulled ages ago, almost right after it was first uploaded. here's to the machine never finding this.
i'm kind of sad now that everyone loves radiohead, but i must admit there's something really exciting about them unleashing what they have been building for 20 odd years to the entire planet with such huge conviction in this performance! like, "you think the shit you listen to is good - check out THESE balls!!!!!"
@kearaluvsjustin Absolutely they are one of the best ever! But that was plain overproduced with all the horns. Prefer the band on their own. Typical American awards show, Grammys are shit, imo.
@paradroidetcetera I hear you there. To be honest, Thom Yorke seemed to be mocking the show. That's probably why it was so over the top. It was a "in your face, if we're gonna do your award show, we're gonna make fun of you". They still sounded good though. SO much energy.
This is a really fly horn arrangement. Plus Thom seems to be putting on some swag for this performances. Probably because he doesn't give a shit haha. That's why he's great though.
@Radiohead4121 The Grammy's are far from a popularity contest. Every artist that wins a Grammy actually deserves it. Did you ever think that her album might have actually been good?
@ivorybomb Are you serious? LOL Throughout the years almost everyone they nominate, are the extremely famous artist, Radiohead is amazing, the only reason their in the grammy's is because their mainstream, but for a good reason, they have talent. Compared to all these artist like Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, their music is just catchy and most of the time they don't even write their own songs, and the beats are made by someone else, all they do is sing it. Funny.
@ivorybomb yeah... I'll have to disagree on that one. the most popular always wins. the best sold, the most acclaimed, call it what you want. but the Grammy's stopped being a quality contest a while ago. now they're committed with people. people's favorite MUST win. even if its a piece of shit. which in this case, it was. aand no. Katy Perry doesn't deserve it. why? well, long story, it all started a while ago when the concept of good music was degraded as fuck
@mamatouchyourweewee I don't think he's even left-handed, most pics show him right-handed - he's just playing left-handed for some songs (He has worn a wrist-brace on his right arm since the early days; he might have learned to play certain songs left-handed because it's easier on his tendonitis/carpal-tunnel tendencies? Not sure... ^^)
I heard my brother was playing this song on his computer downstairs... I went running and I fell the 15 steps of my staircase... and it hurt as hell... l..l,
@elurseeknay I for one never heard the supposed similarity between muse and Radiohead, and I've been a fan of both for years. If you'd care to enlighten me on which songs sound similar, I'd really love to listen. Maybe Matthew Bellamy's vocal style on Showbiz is slightly similar to Thom's, but that's about all I've ever heard.
@Urbeflurb93 Most bands tend to play their stuff faster live. Just the adrenaline. Radiohead is usually realllllly good at keeping the original tempo, however here I'm sure that because it was a national broadcast, they had to speed it up to fit the time slots allotted.
Such a powerful arrangement, really gets cooking at the end. Was slightly halting at the start with the faster tempo but really built to a crescendo. Seen Radiohead twice, they never disappoint.
I'm a singer songwriter and would love it if you get a chance to check out some of my songs on my channel. Thanks. Cw.
WWWOWWW. That was amazingly incredible. I would totally lose my shit if I was asked to be part of something like that. Excellent arrangement. ... Funny, I just looked down and saw that someone else already "lost their shit" watching this - yeah, empty bowels all around!

(cont'd) other bands. Some of you seem to have it drilled into your skulls that mainstream publicity = automatically bad. That certainly isn't the case. Radiohead was brought to the Grammys to put on a show, and they did a damn good job. Why? Because people like them. They're not underground or whatever you want to delude yourself into thinking. They are, in fact, mainstream, but a more complex mainstream band.
Jesus Christ. You psuedo-hipsters drive me absolutely batshit sometimes.

Just shut the fuck up already. Radiohead isn't about being against pop culture, it's about experiencing different sensations through music. That doesn't mean other bands at the Grammys are NOT musicians. They too want their audiences to experience sensations, but those sensations are rather simplistic. Radiohead doesn't go to the Grammys to BEST (cont'd)
