I am a junior at West High school, and this matters to me. I have been involved in all music programs since 7th grade, and if these cuts are made, there will be a huge impact on the program. These cuts are not just hurting the teachers, but our education.

This needs to be viewed on Fox News and CNN! Those that make the laws have no idea of the impact that IS happening in our school districts across the USA. As an educator, as a tax payer, as a concerned citizen---IT MATTERS TO ME! We will continue to slip further and further behind. The gap will widen between the haves and the have nots. Education is our future. By cutting education sends the message that the future of the USA is not important...THAT MATTERS TO ME!!!

Yule and Draco sent me. As a Canadian citizen this doesn't hit me personally, but knowing that cuts to arts, music, foreign languages, etc. can and will happen saddens me very much. 'Business' isn't always the way to go. Think about the future; 'education', 'possibilities', 'quality' and 'equality' are the ideas that need to come first with 'business' coming after. No one should be disallowed the opportunity to find their trade, be it art; music; sports; etc.

@jetlagmovies I assure you it has reached many countries. I don't know how much attention it'll bring from the internet, though. The best way to get the attention of the higher ups is to send letters. If there's a school that feel this strongly about it then get each member of the school to write a hand-written letter to the school board and mail them all on the same day. If they get that many letters from students then they'll take it into account. Emails will just get deleted due to spam.
