@01musicfan Can't trace a recording date, but Kyu Sakamotos original came out in 1961 and I don't think this would have been too much later than that.
Hi! It's me again.. Bruce Belland. I can't thank you enough for being such a friend and booster of The Preps. You're even reviving some fun memories for ME with some of the tracks you're posting. This was a favorite of mine... AND Ed Sullivan by the way. No really - every time we did his show he's ask us to sing it and we never memorized the bloody Japanese words so we always begged off.
Beautiful Japanese song, I like it. Been away for so long but I promise to be back soon, Miss uploading some Lettermen music and they're coming in January 27, 2010 for a series of concert here in the Philippines. I just don't know if I will see the concert again, I somehow loose my drive on seeing them in person. It's not worth it, better to listen to the old music I've listened all over and over again.
great job by these awesome guys!!! and this is a great song too. my fav by the Four Preps is Down By The Station.

Yeah, I got it now. Shame the Byrds didn't do a cover of it, too. :-)

Great song....The Four Preps were popular in Sri Lanka(then Ceylon) in the 1960s.
Some of these songs are still heard at times on "golden oldie" programmes.

Wow, I've never heard their version, great one. Do you know about what time they did this one?

Thanks Phil, you have certainly gone multi-lingual lately !
This was a UK hit for Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen in 1963.
