wow! my wife grew up in cascade, md and her dad worked at camp david (back during the nixon & carter administrations). we went up there back in 2003 and i wasnt even sure if those lines were active any more.
They use those tracks almost daily...you just have be there at the right time. Usually in the morning and afternoon. They usually switch a mix of freight cars, but the 7897 that I saw a few days ago were switching cement hoppers...about 50 cars. The rails don't look too good, but they are still active.
I saw the 7897 at Cascade Maryland (Highfield)
