  • "Hopefully we'll record that sometime in the fall..." Sarcastic bastards. Sixteen falls later, I'm still waiting.

  • so this song is about using the symbolism of a bakery as a drug house. everyone knows this right???? for those not in the know "wet"= marijuana soaked in embalming fluid and PCP. these guys were a couple of sick f***s gotta love it.

  • I wish they'd used this instead of Dupree, I really do

  • Yep, this is one groovy song. Pretty surprised they never published it.

  • I've seen Steely Dan 3x, Rock&SoulRevue 1x & Dukes of Sept 1x, and I've never heard the female singers sound better than on this song. And when I heard this in Cinci I thought that altogether that was about as solid as the band sounded that night. My favorite drummer in any SD amalgamation - although I liked how the rock and soul revue drummer shook things up a little.

  • Thanks for posting this concert. I would love to see Donald Fagen and/or Steely Dan perform.

  • they should have ditched Cousin Dupree and included this gem

  • @nickhirst well, i think they shuda done both :D

  • @nickhirst completely agree.

  • I love this song and it's chords/vamps/etc... but these lyrics are indecipherable to me!

  • Count Mickey gets hungry Biz Wrangler's gotta take a break sometimes Gotta feed the machine Steamer Heaven is empty A couple of kids in behind the counter With the lovely Janine As soon as he walks in the door, she's smilin' Covers his eyes with his hands Cause everyone knows that it's scary out there When you jump to the wetside Where it's colder, it’s louder, it’s screaming with life And it's way complex Hacking through all the harsh effects
  • Mick goes for “the bomber”

A little sparkling angel food healing

With the gunk on the top

She gives back Mick a quarter

Intense tears and you can feel the flames arcing

    Up over the shop

For the moment they spun on the edge of history

    Fell into animal times

  • Blacked out on the tarmac

It was alive with the sweet sounds of summer

    Although the Steamer's all right

    Mick tries to remember

Somethin kinda cool, but it's already fading

Back to straight black and white

"Baby, I needed a hit of downtime"

Covers his eyes with his hands

  • I found Two Against Nature and Everything Must Go a bit too smooth for my liking. This song has a bit more edge to it.

  • What a terrific song, lyrically, thematically and musically. Very disappointing it wasnt on TAN. Seems can only be accounted for by technical similarity and reworking into other tunes... I had heard it's resembling Cousin Dupree, but never WOH -- but YES can see that now. Not surprising really, considering WOH is my very favorite song from the last two albums....How great this would sound with studio production.. IT MUST have been recorded at some point.. it's out there -- FREE WETSIDE STORY!

  • Another great Steely Dan song but what's this about 1996 at Manassas? Someone please tell me.

  • You know I think this tune may have become West of Hollywood. The form and chord structure are similar. There are also shades of Cousin Dupree.

  • "You know I think this tune may have become West of Hollywood. The form and chord structure are similar. There are also shades of Cousin Dupree".

This song is no where near West of Hollywood. One is a minor key.

  • I really wish this had made the cut for Two Against Nature. What a great song...

  • @Yaponchik78 honestly mee 2

i was sad to see that they never put this to cd
