Homosexuals can only get well much the way an alcoholic gets better. One day at a time, vigilance, and a strong relationship with a Higher Power. Don't let them tell you it can't be done. You may never be attracted to the opposite sex, but you might. People don't die due to lack of sexual encounters. There are many fulfilling things in life. God gave us a will to with as we choose. Have you read the Spitzer study? Political expediency made the determination in 1973 that homosexuality not be considered a mental health problem. Science, however, indicates otherwise. Even the APA (American Psychiatric Association) has moderated it's former stance. See their 1998 brochure and then see their most recent one on the issue. They seem to be coming around to scientific facts rather than politically correct rhetoric. Hang in there, dude.
I just had to point out to those who read this crap, that Spitzer's study was rejected by the APA for poor scientific practices AND Spitzer himself does not support NARTH and denounces their abuse of his research.

What you think and what is fact may, indeed, different. I hear what you're saying and I've searched high and low for conclusive studies. The most credible and conclusive studies indicate otherwise, as well as how unhealthy physically homosexuality is.
If you have religious or other convictions that make you feel like you should change, or have to change, then I say go for it ... but society and all but a few homosexuals would be better off not endouring that just to conform to the comforts of some.
And yea, NARTH has been blowing the APA's change of wording a little out of proportion ... but the APA's internal stance on the effectiveness of 'conversion therapy' has really not changed ( and inline with even studies funded by Exodus ).
What data did the APA use to remove it from the DSM in 1973? This was prompted by homosexuals within. Not by any scientific study. The whole picture must be studied. And the APA has softened their stance on this. This is evident when comparing their brochure from 1998 to their most recent one. They may be catching up with science.

There is a strong indication of Biological influences for most of the family members here who become homosexual. Hopefully, someday the scientist can find the homosexual gene marker that predispose them. According to LDS Doctrine, Homosexuals will never be able to achieve Celestial Glory. however, doesnt mean that they go strait to hell either. Have you read the Spitzer study? Political expediency made the determination in 1973 that homosexuality not be considered a mental health problem. Science, however, indicates otherwise. Even the APA (American Psychiatric Association) has moderated it's former stance. See their 1998 brochure and then see their most recent one on the issue. They seem to be coming around to scientific facts rather than politically correct rhetoric. Hang in there, dude.

If you have religious or other convictions that make you feel like you should change, or have to change, then I say go for it ... but society and all but a few homosexuals would be better off not endouring that just to conform to the comforts of some.
And yea, NARTH has been blowing the APA's change of wording a little out of proportion ... but the APA's internal stance on the effectiveness of 'conversion therapy' has really not changed ( and inline with even studies funded by Exodus ).

What data did the APA use to remove it from the DSM in 1973? This was prompted by homosexuals within. Not by any scientific study. The whole picture must be studied. And the APA has softened their stance on this. This is evident when comparing their brochure from 1998 to their most recent one. They may be catching up with science.

No, God did not create sin. God is holy and He would not create that which is contrary to His nature. Sinfulness is the opposite of holiness. It is lawlessness (1 John 3:4). God is the author of the Law which is a reflection of His holy character (Exodus 20).

God did not directly create sin or evil. Humans are the ones who sin and cause evil. But God did create humans with the ability to do evil, because He wanted us to have free will. So you can't blame God for creating sin, you can only brame him for making you free to sin. If you sin, it's still your responsibility. As for homosexuals going to hell, noboby can go to hell unless they wilfully do something they see is wrong. I think homosexuality is wrong, but I can't say all gays go to hell.

I think you misunderstand. Sin and malice are not created like objects are, they're based on the actions of the individual. Our bad actions don't create a new existence. God decided to give humans the ability to make choices. We can chose to do things God would not do Himself, but only because He allows it. Your argument implies that an all-powerful God would be unable to create free beings! Just because He doesn't DIRECTLY control us like puppets doesn't mean he's not all-powerful.

There are only a handful of passages in the Bible would seem to condemn homosexuality, but the Bible does not, in fact, anywhere condemn homosexuality as a sin. It is a false teaching formed from erroneously translated passages. Your religion is counting the probability that you know nothing about the concept of language translation and accurate historical context, i.e., your ignorance. Jesus and the prophets did not speak in the King's English. The original Bible texts were written in ancient Hebrew, Aramiac, and Greek. Those so-called homo-condemning passages are examples of how some scripture was erroneously translated from the original language they were written in. If I was "in their eyes" I would try to get help, in reality being gay isn't really a good thing, being gay should be considered a disease, that attacks young children, and creates a bad image in families.
Gays should get professional help, instead of being proud of their disease; they should at least consult a therapist.
