  • I once found a dead wading bird, and I wrapped it up and posted it to Phil. Never got a reply.

  • Fantastic Phil...we miss him.

  • This is my uncle phil martin

  • Phil Cool, brilliant. I bet Rolf Harris loved this.

  • Haha, my best friends dad.

  • Phil cool used to live near to me in leyland for a while and he sort of knew my mum and dad not really well but i remember at the height of "cool it" fame they came home from a night at the pub with his autograph on a beer mat. He moved shortly afterwards as he went into out local shop (for anyone near moss side the shop is r.s. mccoll next to the chemists and the chinese chippy) and sort of made daft faces at 1 of the shop workers that recognized him, she called him a dickhead and he left.

  • does anyone remember Phil doing Rolf doing Phil? if so where can i find it?

  • A very good imitation.

  • 2 people are lorry drivers who shat themselves when they crashed.

  • COOL RULES :)

  • Phil Cool certainly is my favourite comedian, and his impression of Rolf Harris really 100% sounded like him, and I couldn't stop laughing, Thank you for uploading this.

  • ...and then the driver shits himself

  • nice to see some classic Cool

  • can you tell what it is yet?

  • He was singing, "You don't have to be beautiful."

  • Anyone got the clip of Phil doing Rolf Harris doing Tom Jones... Sounds surreal doesn't it... I absolutely pissed myself laughing when I saw it.

  • Brilliant!

  • Absolutely brilliant.

  • where is the sketch where he pulls about 50 rubber bands on his face

  • I'm 22 and a big fan of Phil Cool. His impressions of Rolf Harris, Mick Jagger and Rik Mayall have never been bettered.

He his the greatest impressionist ever, apart from Jim Carrey there's no other Comedian who does what Phil does.

Phil Cool is a proper Comedian with real Comedy talent, not like the parade of overrated, unfunny comedians we get today. Russell Brand is definetly one of them and so is Michael Mcintyre.

Get Phil Cool back on TV, then he can show all the others how it's done.

  • Brilliant! I used to love this guys shows . Apparently Rolf Harris himself says Phil Cool is the only one that does a really good and accurate impersonation of him.

  • it is not apparent. rolf does agree that this is THE best impersionation of him ever. ihave rolf on tape saying exactly that

  • lmao

  • 'a bit of entrails.. bom bom bom....'

  • I used to love his show "cool it" back in the late 1980`s!

  • Retired! Are you kidding? Phil is constantly touring and there are plans to get him back on t.v.. We should know - we represent him!

    He is still phenomenal.

idj20 - we and Phil really appreciate these clips. Thank you!

  • A great talent.Genuine talent not packaged x factor style.

  • Am I the only one not hearing the audio?

  • genius. i had the video with this sketch on as a little'n. probably watched it too much. would explain a lot

  • Excellent impersonation! Very good detail, really looks and sounds like him!

My favourite Rolf Harris impersonation is, of course, Graeme Garden in the Goodies episode "The Stone Age", that is the "Bristo and Rolf Harris's grannie" sketch. And "Scatty Safari" of course. But that's for the humor, not for the resemblence, which is more detailed here.

  • lee evans lan carr russel howard micheal macintyre

  • the clever thing is he makes you think hes talkin about an actual person pmsl, fkin hilarious

  • Friggin genius phil coll was amazing. My mum and dad used to go drinking with him in the "dunkirk hall" pub in leyland in the 80s when he was famous with his "cool it" show. I didnt believe they knew him but 1 night they brought home this beer mat with his signature on it.

  • Spot On, Still Makes Me Laugh Every Time.

  • yeah russell brand is such a dick head

  • Wish he would do some more national tv shows.

  • what the hell this is too funny!

  • We saw Phil Cool at the Leamington Spa Centre last night (14thFeb09) on the Fairport Convention Winter Tour. If you can, you really have to catch it! Phil was brilliant and the whole night was brilliant. Google the tour to get the dates.

  • Genius - loved this bloke. A bit hit and miss though.

  • ...these days we have Jack Dee, Russell Brand, Michael Mcintyre et al. Utter shite.

    Bring back Phil.

  • Lee Evans, Simon Pegg, Bill Bailey, Ricky Gervais all pretty funny really

  • Ricky Gervais funny?...I must have blinked and missed it!..He is about as funny as piles!

  • Well he mocks things that are truly ridiculous i'll admit he's got slightly one track type of humor but still@JODIMAR45

  • Bring back Phil Cool!

  • Phil Cool is excellent. I'd much rather watch him than, say, Russell Brand.

By the way: here's a Top Tip from Viz magazine. Spoonerise Rolf Harris's name. Hey presto! You're talking in a dog's voice.

  • Where is he now?

  • Thanks for posting this clip im in tears of laughter!!

  • Used to love watching Phil's shows in the late 80's.

  • Absolutely spot on, I just love the way his says "and whiskers"...

  • its ronnie corbett

  • he really studies the mannerisms of who he takes off he keeps it simple enough too like actions and catch phrases.... all help to take the piss

  • and the lorry driver shit himself!!! quality!! forgot this sketch for years i had it on video once lol

  • I'm trying to dig out the Phil Cool 'Question Time' scetch from the early 80's where he did some excellent impressions of David Bellamy and Arthur Scargill amoungst others. Anyone able to post it?

  • I would love to see the picture lol

  • i think rolf was once quoted as saying he is more like me than me

  • One of the most polished and accurate impersonations I have EVER seen! I was laughing so much at the impersonation, the monologue wasn't even relevant!

  • Steve Googan's alright isn't he? I think he's probably more of a comedian than a "comedian".

  • hey this is great. I was thinking of this guy the other day and was wondering what happened to him. I have a broken memory that he used to do an impression of Lt. Columbo? Do you know if he ever did such a thing? Cheers.

  • Hi, thanks for the kind comment. He's more or less retired from the stand up comedy scene but still does the odd concert at his home area. And yes, you're right in saying that he did do an impression of Columbo. I have done a video of him doing that.

  • @idj20 Great video. I notice he is doing some gigs in Scotland in Feb. I wonder how much he has aged? I remember watching him on BBC as a kid - 33 now

  • i remember him on one of his bbc shows, where he did an oscars awards routine ,impersonating people like john wayne, burt lancaster, kirk douglas etc absolutely top draw. pascanal

  • Thanks for the latest Cool vid Ian - i don't really remember his ITV stuff - probably because i don't think it worked so well and it didn't have the spark of his BBC series - where he was really up and enthusiastic and that came across [:o)

    Positive John.

  • My favorite sketch is Phil doing Rolf where he ends up painting the audience. Anyone got that video?

    Chas Hall

  • Hi, Chas. Glad to see someone does at least appreciate Cool's humour! I do have one other video of him doing Rolf Harris in an earlier stand-up comedy routine. I'll see if I can find it and stick it in youtube.

  • Phil Cool is more like Rolf Harris than Rolf Harris!

    Chas Hall

  • so it's over-the-top? that's phil cool for you

  • And so is Steve Googan. HE's what you call an overrated unfunny "comedian" (for want of a better word). At least Phil geniunely does make me and everyone else I know laugh, so I'm afriad you're pretty much in the minority.
