    so brilliant

  • This track reminds me of my daughter Oni'. Her Mom, my x Pasha... My step daughter, Nisha... Life? It goes ON son.. Bless to Eternal Reflection..

  • Blackstar, Black On Both Sides, Train of Thought, & Like Water For Chocolate, an ultimate 4 album gift!

  • @sfknns Best comment I've seen today on anything...best 3 rappers still active. Although, I like Be more than Like Water for Chocolate

  • HIP HOP ain't dead...you just gotta look for it. This is true hip hop.

  • @SuprYn88 SO true. I have extreme confidence that there will be a couple guys that will come in and save the genre. J Cole, Jay Electronica, and this guy can get it done.

  • @gtboy453 Dont forget Bone thugs n harmony, wordsworth, supernatural, b.o.b, lupe fiasco, mos def and common :)

  • @SuprYn88 Yeah mate true but then again this album is how old? 5? 10? More? It's beautiful and it's a classic.

  • @SuprYn88 Yeah true mate but the problem is, how long ago was this album made? 5 years? 10? More? This is beautiful and classic Hip Hop for sure though. Kweli is one of my favourites, especially his classic stuff.

  • @SuprYn88

Hip hop IS dead. It's underground. Hehe.

  • this is the best hip hop you will find unlike those poppy divas that claim to be rappers

  • in my life time aint do many things better tan watcin your son puting first sentences together

  • I was 16 when this dropped. Changed my life

  • @JohnSmyf me too man

  • @JohnSmyf i hear your bro i was 17 and used to burn this album out man

  • really does bring back memories

  • there is a certain vibe to this song that is so unusual for a hip-hop song imo. I listen to my fair share of real hip-hop and I can tell you that this instrumental is special. Add the lyrics to the mix and you have something thats timeless.

  • HIP HOP!!!!! Please come back! This is hip hop!

  • I keep tryin to tell yall hip hop is not dead....

  • the world of rap would be better off without wayne and his army of clones!!

  • Rap - Lies = hip hop

  • The best. Ever.

  • The reason why I wanna be an EmCee in the first place, Real Hip Hip man. Music that reaches and grabs the soul. I love this track. Time when hip hop was about creativity, seting the mind free and lookin back as we take this long journey of life. Songz that tell stories and layin foundations for the young seedz to grow on. Hip-Hop that made you and me man. Reflection Eternal homie.

  • YOung Wizzard and the Kothefendant at Amarachi Lounge this coming Friday April 23 rd...Ladies free b4 10...Dudes $10....Live Band and showchase and Open mic....itz gon be crazy!!! 325 Franklin Ave blw clifton and Greene

  • The whole reflection eternal album is dope. Everytime i bump this joint, i burn an L & start reminiscing about life

  • Am I the only that feels goose-bumbs now when I listen to this and also felt them the 1st time I heard it about a decade ago. Long live real hip hop! Listening to Soulja Boy and what rap is today, I don't feel bad anymore because we have this history to reflect on. I can actually be ignorant and go the extra mile by saying I don't care for the future of hip hop. I guess this is my definition of reflecting eternally. GOD BLESS

  • great the musical expression we need 1 word great!!

  • this album made me into the man i am today...the first time i ever picked up a piece of music and felt as if it narrated the story of my life.

  • Wow, that shit was creepy, it was like identical to my life, except for the last minute or so. Trippy

  • It is no surprise many people have been dissapointed with Talib's recent offerings. Well for one he didn't have Hi-Tek offering the beats to match Kweli's lyrical brilliance.

  • "Cats talk about packin the 9 when they lackin Divine Inspiration; runnin out of topics of conversation while I drop it in the pocket cuz rock is my occupation"

Kweli's finest album Hi-Tek's brilliant beats. The zenith of his career he was telling the truth when he said "we made it. we're here...". This album was one of hip hops finest in recent memory.

  • one of the best ever. maybe the best

  • this shit is unbelievable. sooo good

  • sweet memories!!!!!

  • It's songs like this that make you smile and realize how good REAL hip-hop is. I do agree that I have not liked some of Talib Kweli's newer stuff as much as his older stuff, but Blackstar, Train of Thought, and Quality are classics. All artists grow; you can't expect them to stay the same/sound the same.

  • reflection eternal is his best album

  • why did talib Kweli have to get so bad, so quick. He was the greatest for two albums - reflection eternal & blackstar - and now he just sucks.

  • Talib doesnt suck, his style has changed - maybe not to your liking. No doubt reflection eternal and blackstar were sick albums, artists have to evolve though and try different things to stay fresh and keep the blood flowin - thats why you see people get bored of certain artists cos everythin new they make ends up soundin the same, thats why you seen common sense and mos def change their styles up aswell.....although universal mind control by common was absolute wank

  • I agree on this topic!

  • @Swiftafunk i hear a different voice on his newer albums - his tone and delivery are higher pitch, more biting, and less dynamic. You don't hear the depth of emotion in his voice like on this track. And no Hi-Tek = worse albums, not kweli's fault i guess.

  • @foresttdog

    smh...you couldnt be more wrong

  • @foresttdog quality and eardrum were good albums too

  • People under the stairs took this beat and remixed it. If somebody as great as them did that, with this song, this song has to be raw...

  • Honestly that song used to make me happy even in the worst days! Big up Talib One of the best! Big up to real hip hop!

  • Rappers like Talib have to be some of the most intelligent people on this earth.

Just listen to his lyrics, and how he can formulate that into a flow that corresponds with Hi-Tek's ridiculous beat. Not to mention his lyrics are amazing.

  • obsorbed everything like a spunge took a plunge of my pass 2 share with my sun

  • @nappycrown took a plunge into my past to share with my son

  • talib'S voice and flow is unique

  • hi-tek's beat and talib's flow gives me chills man. if only we could hear more shit like this nowadays. thank you hi tek.

  • Timeless !!!

  • man i jus lov dis song. if rap was still like dis than i wouldnt mind listening to rap all the time on tha radi. dont get me wrong ima rapper my self but rap today isnt the reason why i started it was all 90's and early 2000's rap that motivated me. Its funny rap started out bein wild and fun, now its about suits and alcohol. Shit all my friends still smoke dat bud. Jus close your eyes and feel tha vibe tha song gives off and youll feel calm and youll start to think what have i done in my life!!

  • crazy

  • kids... this right here... is true hip hop.

  • i die a lil bit everyday when I think about how hip hop.......how did we let this once beautiful way of life die........we let this lil wayne and his army of clowns make a mockery of hip hop......yeah I'm young but I can't stand these new dudes....they have no talent......we need to bring back real hip hop and stop letting these talent clowns get it their way

  • It Will Never Die. Don't Forget That Just As In The Early 90's And Even A Decade Ago, The Weak Bubblegum Music Was Being Pushed The Hardest. There Is Plenty Garbage Today, But There Is Still Good Hip Hop And A Lot Of It. The Internet Was Part Of The Problem. Now It Can Be Part Of The Solution.

  • @MrDEllis09 Yea man i agree with you, i might have been born in 89' but i can't get down with this new shit , but i found other stuff like this and mos def and so many others... fuck "lil wayne and his army of clowns" lol

  • @MrDEllis09 lol wow u did not just say lil wayne has no talent its funny so much people hate on him it just mean hes that good oh and drake has talent ass well ur jus leaving in the past thier are rappers out now that are as good a talib kweli was back then

  • Talib Kweli, back then? Explain to me, is talib still now doing what he does? I actually saw him and hi tek do their thing this past Saturday and it was the best shit I ever saw. And you're saying a lot of people hate cause he is that good, trust me, from somebody who hates on wayne, I don't not like him cause he is that good. I don't like him cause he has no substance, rhymes about nothing important, and has the mainstream outlet to say something but could give a shit less, fuck him.

  • @beadlejoosemania how the fuck does a lil wayne fan come across a talib kweli track and still say lil wayne has talent??

  • @cheesecrackersgame its called not being a closed minded fuck and listening to anything thats good i listen to everything from antipop consortium to dudley perkins to doom and main stream like lil wayne snoop gucci and wale people think they dont have talent jus cuz there mainstream and not underground music is music to me thats why i dont make false alligations about rappers i dont listen to to like i bet u only heard wayne singles try listening to his tracks on his album then say sumthin

  • @beadlejoosemania i heard his shit, it's whack

  • @cheesecrackersgame and what have u heard probable nothing its funny it seems like i know more about music then u and im weezy fan DAMN its pointless arguing with u CUZ U DONT KNOW SHIT ABOUT HIP HOP

  • @beadlejoosemania I find it funny how u call urself a weezy fan and then try to tell me I don't know shit about hip hop. Kill that noise

  • @cheesecrackersgame and being a weezy fan makes me not a fan of hip hop or what

  • @beadlejoosemania u certainly aint helpin the cause and to say i dont know shit about hip hop is a foolish thing to say.

  • @cheesecrackersgame HELL YEAH. Tell him wus good. GET HIM!

  • @cheesecrackersgame what cause aint i helping

oh to know about hiphop means to listen to every kind of hip hop not jus dis mainstream cuz it dont appeal to u open ur mind man hip hop is universal mainstream and underground i jus get tired of underground heads saying wayne aint good but i bet u anything if he wasent on tv or the radio ud be saying hes the best

  • @beadlejoosemania no he would still suck, actually he probaly would be good cause the success would of not gone to his head yet and there's more hunger. But if he just did the same shit, it's whack. If you wanna talk mainstream, Lupe Fiasco tears up lil wayne. Lil wayne is an over rated media puppet, that's all.All I have to say is, Nas Damian Marley Distant Relatives Today Get IT.

  • @cheesecrackersgame lol wopps i was on my friends profile talk about a fail lol

  • @beadlejoosemania I was talkin as far as mainstream Lupe is a beast. that 9th wonder and Murs collab didn't get much publicity but no doubt it's dope. I would of brought up RPM but it didn't cross my mind, I've been hyped up on distant relatives more. Best beleive I'm a true hip hop fan

  • @cheesecrackersgame ight man whatever u say have u copped that declaim shit

  • @beadlejoosemania declaim?

  • @cheesecrackersgame i rest my case sum hip hop fan u are

  • @beadlejoosemania how the fuck does that rest anything? you mention declaim and expect me to know what your talking about.

  • @cheesecrackersgame nevermind im done with u u bore me

  • @MrDEllis09 It's not dead. Just learn to ignore the shite. There's always been bullshit mainstream hiphop there, nothing new about that.

  • @MrDEllis09

stop listen to mtv and for shure you will find new quality hiphop ... hiphop ain´t dead ... it´s just the popshit shining so bright that you can´t find your way to good music...

  • @MrDEllis09 Man you gotta respect ever diffrent style of hip-hop, Like soulja boy said he dosent even consider him self rap, He's party music! same with gucci and waka flocka!, I love the 90's!! Favrite time, And I was even born in em As a Reward, You should open your ear's and expand your vocalbular for hiphop!!

  • wow this is amazing

  • great music, got it goin' onn

  • i love this duo, cant wait for the new reflection

  • Out of control

  • Like thoughts out the back of your mind, goin back in some time, like when you used to cut and have to go to the back of the line, look back and you find, tracks that make you relax and recline, cats rap about packin a nine when they lackin devine inspiration...

  • yes thank divinity for manifesting in our troubled society much needed are these teacher's and channalers of light conscience ness

  • thank the Godz 4 true hip hop!

  • Thats what I'm saying. Everything is beautiful, until wicked tants it. Hip-Hop is a very powerful tool, and it sucks to see that the darkened side of Hip-Hop is what is mostly played on the radio...

  • true definition of hip hop

  • U lot should take ur negativity elsewhere, this song doesnt need ur shit all over it. Listen to the music n CHILL.

  • "basking in tha African sun like wow"

  • Sick tune!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Shadapaga and troubleshooter1900 U PATHETIC NOBS just enjoy the fukin song

  • yea seriously Instead of youtube fighting lol jus listen to some kweli in your car and bump it while everybodys on the Lil wayne is a great rapper tip

  • i feel you on that tip.... Those connected to spiritual enlightenment and meditation know about this energy.

  • if i had to pick one song in the world to listen to before i die itd be this one. cuz when i first heard this song for the first time it gave me a sense of a reminder of my childhood. this is song is just one of those you listen to when your high or sad. BUT IF YOU GUYS WANNA HEAR A SONG THAT IS A STONER SONG IN MY AREA LOOK UP: SEARCHIN BY EMINEM

  • Yeah, I want this played at my funeral. I may write it in my will. And this is a serious gesture.

  • your sentance structure and vocab is terrible

  • Well, since I'm on YouTube and not in class, I felt I could write how I pleased as long as I got my point across. Capitalization and puntuation isn't your strong suit if I may say so myself. Grammatical syntax is what I feel at the time, and I feel as though I made my point. You have too with your "broken" sentence structure.

Yeah, those damn mirrors. When someone holds one up, it kind of make the situation ackward. Feels like you were talking to yourself the whole time. Peace.

  • you use every word wrong, awkward, gesture, you just use words wrong, its not like im proper your just being corney using words that dont make sense.

  • Didn't you mean "you're just being corny" instead of "your just being corney". You are still looking in the mirror my friend. Peace.

  • Btw, gesture was used in the proper format. I did spell "awkward" wrong though. I'll give you that.

  • its not that you spelled the words wrong its that you use the wrong words. Like gesture, instead of a gesture its more of an act, or occurance, gesture makes no sense. You said awkward when nothing was awkward. And you said format when words are not formatted, there are no different formats of words. Maybe you could say you used it in the proper form. Put away the thesaurus and talk like everyone else, and please stop saying peace and responding.

  • A gesture has more than one meaning. I don't have a thesaurus either. maybe you need one. words have more than one meaning. Maybe your education is limited so you dont understand what the hell is coming from my posts.

Perhaps you should just clean the mirror so you could see the ass on your face, asshole. PEACE.

  • you should really consider what i said because you do sound like an asshole, i mean i obviously cant make you listen and you obviously dont know any better but some of the shit you say makes little sense. My education is limited? im a 3rd year ivy league architecture/ civil engineering student.

  • Yeah, you're preaching to the chior. Fuck you and have a nice day.

You are going to fail in life. Is that simple enough? Peace asshole. Peace.

  • you are preaching to the choir do you even know what that means. I think i am helping you more than offending you because people might take you serious if you didnt always make up words and meanings. I dont understand why you say i am going to fail in life i have been successful so far. I could drop out of school now and make 50k$. and i am very well rounded.

  • this has a good vibe to it. It calms me down when im angry or sad. reminds me of me and my friends cuz we all used used to play this at bonfires. i wish i never left my friends

  • this album needs to be played in order. this song has to be followed by 'Africa Dream'.

  • I love this album and I saw in a Talib interview t

  • go talib

  • Sample for this song, from the great soul artist Ann Peebles. Hi-Tek truly can produce and sample.

  • dope

    names from the 70's

    free p

  • "bringing back sweet memories"

  • I love this kind of music, real hip hop. It's awesome. :3

  • another thing that makes me sad, this has 20,185 views while "lil wayne" has 80 million views..

  • One of tha last REAL Hip-Hop artists. Because of "lil wayne" and all these new "rappers" Hip-Hop has turned to hip pop.. what i dont understand is the majority of people would listen to "lil wayne" rather than this, almost like everybody wants to be fake.. but thats ok because the majority of people who listen to 'lil wayne' are wannabe fake niggas or 15 yr old girls. Just like Talib said " This Is How Hip-Hop Is Spossed To Be!!"

  • one of my favorite songs...cats rap about packin the nines when they lackin the rhymes"....talib assaalamlaykum!

  • Its like a unfamiliar, fond memory.. My girl hates it when i repeat this joint twice in the car on the way to work...

  • LMao bro my girl usually blows me to this track when we are high as fuck !!! Get the instrumental its better lol

  • how can you be horny when your high? its like impossible

  • Lmao just ix some PCP in your chronic and it will feel a lot better! Shyt might as well add some coke to it too lmao ! Yeah I guess its a different feeling for everyone but Memories live is definitely one of the tracks I put on when I'm high ! One

  • Uhm, I don't think you have ever been high buddy.

  • yeah take away Kweli's sick verses? no thanks

  • talib don't even care if you "know who he is" or not hes real...real reconize real..thats all that real matters if you think about it.

  • It will always be my remedy. I'm not who I am without this song, and what it represents.

  • the problem now is people just want 2 shake there ass all u need is a beat a hook O yea no flow this is what hot? today music is trash.

  • " In my lifetime, ain't too many things better

than watching your first son put his sentences together"... real lyrics that actually have meaning and one of the sickest beats ever def make this a classic...bumpin this till the day I die

  • Word to that bro I was frozen in time that felt like an eternity when I first heard this track!!!!! Shyt was crazy when I heard the waves at the end of the Track!!! I was high as hell and didnt know if I was hearing things or it was really waves on the track! Come on, who puts waves on a beat besides Hi tek and can get away with it? Shyt is a masterpiece!!!!!!!!

  • Man This Has to be one of hip hops best songs
