Moral of the story- you can be fat and healthy. Especially because it can take such a long time to shed pounds, even once you completely turn your lifestyle around. Forget the diets, though. The most important thing is that you are eating the right things(you can still eat what you want, just make sure you're eating well balanced meals,) and getting the right amount of exercise. :) Tone up, gain some muscle. And be proud of who you are, regardless of other people's small-mindedness and idiocy.
I always get the "I'm worried about you" talk from my family. I'm around 300lbs, and my doctor says I'm perfectly healthy. Why try to fix me, if I'm not broken? Last time I got this talk, it was from my older cousin, and she started crying when I reacted. I said,"I don't NEED to lose weight. My doctor says I'm perfectly healthy." I mean, I DID say it with kind of an attitude, but she was trying to use that guilt trip to make me do something I don't want to do.
You are truly an inspiration. I constantly put myself down about my weight. Even though deep down I know I'm gorgeous no matter what. Thank you so much for these videos. My Goal is to think more like this, and less negative. I need to stop making excuses and just be happy with who I am :3

@10cent, no I havnt always ate 1,300 cals a day.... But what did make me fat was eating the recommended 2,000 a day when I did dance, gymnastics, and volleyball.... After I quit those sports, I still remained to eat 2000 cals a day...and 50 lbs bigger here I am.... I didnt get fat by shoving burgers or burritos down my throat, I got fat because my activity level changed but my cal intake didnt.....
@10cent, I hate burgers in general, lol nice try though once again..... I weight lift every other day, I do Zumba every day in between lifting, and my calorie intake is 1,300 a day. I walk 10 miles on Saturday's. So don't compare my life style with a smoker...

I don't think lots overweight people consider themselves beautiful simply because they don't let themselves think they're beautiful. Confidence is beauty, not weight. I had no confidence. I still don't, but that is probably b/c I still have 23 pounds to go before I get to where I think I'd be not fat.
Still, weight doesn't make someone ugly, does it? I have friends that are 30 pounds heavier and 5 inches shorter, yet they look a lot less fat in my opinion.

After watching these videos, I cried so hard. I'm about 40 pounds over my ideal weight but the way I feel, it might as well be 400. I know I should own my life and say fuck the assholes, but it still hurts. It still hurts looking at those pictures from when I was a teenager, seeing how downright skinny I was, and wondering why everyone told me I was fat. Why not one person told me I was pretty. Just hearing it that one time could have made so much difference in that teenager's life.

Just remembered some of my own "everyday wit". I modelled in a fashion show where both plus size and "regular" models were present. We had a dressing room in which we were all basically putting on a show for eachother while we got changed - then I heard it: "OMG, LOOK at her thighs. What is she DOING here?" and my answer was "I'm here to eat you."

@10cent, no I havnt always ate 1,300 cals a day.... But what did make me fat was eating the recommended 2,000 a day when I did dance, gymnastics, and volleyball.... After I quit those sports, I still remained to eat 2000 cals a day...and 50 lbs bigger here I am.... I didnt get fat by shoving burgers or burritos down my throat, I got fat because my activity level changed but my cal intake didnt.....

@10cent, I hate burgers in general, lol nice try though once again..... I weight lift every other day, I do Zumba every day in between lifting, and my calorie intake is 1,300 a day. I walk 10 miles on Saturday's. So don't compare my life style with a smoker...

So when you said, "dont think they're not talking about you" it reminded me of this one incident in my Global class.some kid said "look how fat she is!" so i said, "you might want to work on your whispering voice when you're talking about someone who's right next to you..." He said he wasnt talking about me, so i said, "i dont CARE who you were talking about." He got sent to the Assistant Principal. turns out he made 3 other girls in the class uncomfortable. I don't think lots overweight people consider themselves beautiful simply because they don't let themselves think they're beautiful. Confidence is beauty, not weight. It demonstrates that you have so little going on in your life that you are sitting around thinking about responses to people who insult you. Realize what this demonstrates to people: A) that people insult you on a regular basis and B) It really bothers you.
If you really want to become more skilled socially, find a way to demonstrate (even if it's not true) that people never insult you and you never care if anyone actually did.

@rachelsanders2 I just like what she was saying. Inner beauty. It is possible that it is fake confidence. When I was 142 lbs bigger (still big now, depending on the definition of big) I hated myself. I had no confidence. I still don't, but that is probably b/c I still have 23 pounds to go before I get to where I think I'd be not fat.
Still, weight doesn't make someone ugly, does it? I have friends that are 30 pounds heavier and 5 inches shorter, yet they look a lot less fat in my opinion.

After watching these videos, I cried so hard. I'm about 40 pounds over my ideal weight but the way I feel, it might as well be 400. I know I should own my life and say fuck the assholes, but it still hurts. It still hurts looking at those pictures from when I was a teenager, seeing how downright skinny I was, and wondering why everyone told me I was fat. Why not one person told me I was pretty. Just hearing it that one time could have made so much difference in that teenager's life.

I had to giggle, because I had the situation with the kids asking if I was having a baby happen just 2 days ago, while picking up my son from school... and I pretty much reacted the same way by chuckling and saying 'No, sweetie. I'm just fat"
The little kid just shrugged and happily went on his way. His poor mother went about 5 shades of red though, I felt bad for her.

I love your words of wisdom. I think in this day and age they are needed. We need to get the word out to our younger, plus size girls (pre-teens, teens, and younger). I see friends of my nieces thinking that they arent beautiful because they are plus size. It really hurts me to see it. The thing that is so bad is that they are truly beautiful and cant see it. @PuddlesMcNiggley - my man loves curvy women...and has often said of skinnier women "I'd lose her in the sheets!"...that's his preference. But for the love of Pete, he's not a DEVIANT!!! It's not different. In fact, when we started dating I noticed ALL of his friends were dating curvier women, and if they broke up it's not like they faced the "entire truth" and started dating skinny women. They looked for the same type of woman.
