@circushead Homosexuality is condemned in the Old Testament. Jesus came to update the laws of the Old Testament, and he made no changes to that one. Furthermore, Jesus explicitly condemned all sexual activity, including heterosexual activity, outside of marriage, and defined marriage explicitly as being between a man and a woman. So all sexual activity outside of that is by definition sinful, and the wages of sin is eternal death.

They come with what they believe is good intention, and in the end turning more away from christ then bringing them to Christ. The school was wrong for granting a permit to an outside group to come onto the campus to openly shout religious beliefs. I'll bet if someone wanted to preach satanism they wouldn't have granted them a permit. You don't know Contitutional Law. People cannot access areas like dorms, and clasrooms, but the common areas are completely public, and no one needs permission to be there or speak there. The University can restrict time place and manner, as long as it does not censor, or hinder the free speech.

To preach this is simply to state basic Christian belief. That is not persecution. I guess you could call it criticism, but persecution involves the curtailing of a person's freedom.

@circushead Homosexuality is condemned in the Old Testament. Jesus came to update the laws of the Old Testament, and he made no changes to that one. Furthermore, Jesus explicitly condemned all sexual activity, including heterosexual activity, outside of marriage, and defined marriage explicitly as being between a man and a woman. So all sexual activity outside of that is by definition sinful, and the wages of sin is eternal death.
Be a Christian if you wish, but don't lie about it.

It shames me that there are a lot of atheists at MTSU who stand by the American constitution, but yet won't even respect a preacher's right to free speech. The majority of the angered people were Christians who were upset about how he was making their religion look. I do think that the best thing would have been to ignore him, but that is unlikely to happen. He is looking to cause a scene. That is his entire purpose. He wants to make everyone look like they are crazy.

I think the 'preacher' was acting kinda robotic in his sentences and explanations. Second of all, I've read the gospels and to my knowledge Jesus didn't call sinner's names but instead was compassionate. Now for the student's, it seems like they took what this guy was saying and said 'because of this dude on our campus, we think christianity is wack'. What do so many of you hate God? Stop sinning, and follow Jesus. Put down the alcohol, and pick up the Bible. Stop having sex outside of marraige, and start obeying God. If you are sinning, you need to stop, and go the opposite direction. That is repentance. Stop sinning, live holy, even as He is holy. Be perfect Matthew 5:48, John 5:14, John 8:11. The school was wrong for granting a permit to an outside group to come onto the campus to openly shout religious beliefs. I'll bet if someone wanted to preach satanism they wouldn't have granted them a permit. If this preacher wasn't a student, parent of a student or employee of the school they had no business doing this there. State college campuses are not public parks.

well im from the memphis area and i ddnt like what U of M had to offer. i believe MTSU is a really good school...not saying that because i go here....there are alot of really good programs here...you should look into it more...and trust me and take it from someone who lived in memphis...its nothing like going to U of M

Read Galatians, its a good example especially when it describes the fruit of the spirit. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. These are the qualities that christ demonstrated everyday of his life here on earth. He showed compassion and understanding to those who broke Gods laws and showed them the error of their ways. He did not come to condemn the world but to save it.

You can NEVER stop sinning. We're not perfect. The apostle Paul looked at himself as "the chief of all sinners". In the epistle of John he's writing to people who thought they were sinless.
1 John 1:8 "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."

You are wrong. State college campuses are not the same as public parks. If you are not a student, parent of a student or an employee of the school you have to have permission to be on campus. The school was wrong for granting them a permit.

@skrudrvr right because there are fences up and guards around the campus making sure no one gets in or out. really? okay. well before i started to attend MTSU i went on campus all the time and i did not need permission nor was i not suppose to be. say what you want. yeah it was wrong but the college cannot deny permission for any group to come on campus to speak.

You don't know Contitutional Law. People cannot access areas like dorms, and clasrooms, but the common areas are completely public, and no one needs permission to be there or speak there. The University can restrict time place and manner, as long as it does not censor, or hinder the free speech.
