Unfortunatly many Americans think rocket launchers are ok as long as they are pointed in the other direction. When we think of war we should consider how green the grass must feel on the other side of the fence!
Fantastic song...I read someplace that Bono and the boys from U2 often rehearsed this one and even considered covering "Rocket Launcher"...pity, because that would have been interesting!
i don't always emathizewith this guy(but he is so damn good, talented to the max, excellent musician, songwriter and storyteller...he can hold his own) but i am always impressed by him.
One of the millions of the victims of the USAmerikan Empire speaks out in this lyric. This is just as relevant in the time of bush/clinton/bush/obama-mcshame as it was in the time of that waste of skin, spawn of Satan, saint ronny ray-gun.
Imagine a world where the most powerful and richest countries actually took care of all of their citizens and shared useful skills and the resources of the Earth with all of the people of Earth.
We wouldn't need rocket launchers nor bloody armies neither.
unfortunately human nature will never change so were stuck in the most free and prosperous nation that has ever existed on our planet and in our known universe . In fact were so free here in the u.s. that you personally can make a difference . well till they start redistributing the wealth . then you can kiss all of this prosperity goodbye (cant force people to work for nothing thats why socialism has always failed.
this guy wouldn't know personal sacrifice if it slapped him in the face. piece of shit would probably run away if he was faced with saving 20 people by giving his own life.
i can feel the iraqi's who feels the same way! i can feel us "americans" who feel the same way as we see our kids shot down 50 times by police bullets- and the pigs get away with it. yeah. if i had a rocket, y'all should of felt the pissed off anger we feel at the pigs right about now.right here in the belly of the beast!
Mooregl and Oyster3000, Yes that is Fergus on the Stick.I'm actually the one who conducted the interview that Mooregl quoted. Fergus has a violinist brother named Hugh who plays on the new Narnia movie soundtrack. BTW, Fergus is an amazing bassist as well pulling double duty on Stick/bass with Bruce on numerowus albums and concerts. He is my biggest influence on Stick and it was such a blast and honor to have interviewed him!

That's Tony Levin (King Crimson) on the 'Stick'. Saw this tour in '84 in Chicago. Great show.

@Selmer1430P It's actually Fergus Jemison Marsh, brother of Hugh Marsh on violin.

Tell me that's not Tony Levin in around 1979....with hair! I wish there was a better view of the Stickist.

I believe that's Fergus Marsh.

From an interview with Fergus Marsh. You have also worked with the incredible Bruce Cockburn. Did Bruce have a
clear idea of what he wanted from you on your collaborations with him,or were you allowed a certain measure of freedom?
Bruce actually made me play Stick all the time, which I'm thankful for now.
Musically, Bruce always seemed to give plenty of freedom to the players.
