lap top problem...do what i do. set up a digital recorder. And take notes on paper. Then play the recorder back and take notes. basically anything the teacher writes on the board, WRITE IT DOWN! Powerpoints from my teachers are usually posted on their websites.

And as for the Laptop, Mac is the only way to go. My friends try and proclaim that they're are other options, and that MAc is too expensive. But once you get one, you can't go back and their arguments begin to seem lack luster.

MAC= no viruses....ever. No crazy random annoying pop-ups. (unless you go to some freaky sites!) Ease of use.It stays as fast as the day you bought it for a really long time. Internet use does not slow down. :) so get one

Mac's may be prone just as much as window's, but the user has to input their computer password in oder for the virus to get into the computer. Therefore, eliminating contact with a virus, as long as a password is not submitted

There are more viruses for Windows based machines, because Windows is the majority OS, meaning most people own a Windows based computer, rather than a Mac. Yes, I never denied the POSSIBILITY of a MAC getting a virus. In fact, I have stated earlier that it IS possible. BUT, as you have said, a virus writer is more likely to target the more popular demographic which is the OS or windows operating system. So, the likelihood of a Mac user getting a virus when compared to an OS user is very little to NONE. In fact, many of the Mac users don't even run an antivirus protection program because there are little to NO viruses, which is EXACTLY my point :)
