I was amused by that last little dig: At the time that we broke up too many other people were trying to get into the group. You could have had two groups--the Beatles and the Beatles wives. :-) George did have the hardest time with Yoko's constant hanging about.
I don't understand it. Here is a musical legend and the interviewer is asking dumb questions...."did becoming successful young in life change your life?" He is lucky that George has a sweet personality. If it were John Lennon he would have played sarcastically with the interviewer and ultimately tell him to F*$#& off!
Sobering thought when you realise this wasn`t that long ago, & these guys weren`t that old when it was done, but Harrison & Peel are both now dead : /
Amazing... when was this taped? I recall Jonathan Ross and his show, but I don't remember this... from what year is this? I lived in the UK from about March 86 thru December 89... I did not recognize John Peel...wow. George is looking around Cloud nine in appearance. Great save! Wish more of George, in a relaxed and candor state was available for viewing. Anyone know the progress of Scorsese's planned movie? Arnold Grove Productions is the UK link for that project isn't it?
@continuumvideo Mr. Scorcese's biopic of George will be released in 2011. this is from mr. Scorcese's appearance at the Cannes film festival earlier this year.
Wonder if the fim will be relased around the 10th anniversary of George's death?
George did live in Los Angeles as a tax exile in the 1970's (it's where he met Olivia). When Britian revised their tax laws around 1978, he move back to his Friar Park estate. He said he wanted his son to be born and raised in England.
@vantalge I'm American too so someone correct me if I explain this wrong but he's like Jay Leno with attitude. From what I've seen he's usually very blunt with his guests.
@yotaxi I didn't realize that it was Jonathan Ross til I read your comment! My, my that's crazy! He even sounds a bit different. This is a great interview. George is polite, I'm surprised he didn't say like fuck off, leave me be please!
I think Michael Palin (of Monty Python) is sitting at a table (in a red sweater) when the interviewer first walks in.
