Damn Morgan Paige is ultra cute :) Ummm oh ya so I was going to say that the smart that was powered by the CDI engine (diesel) was much better. I think that was the Mercedes engine as someone pointed out. The only thing I wish is that the car was offered with a true manual but no such luck.

I have a Smart car , a pure to be exact and it is the most fun little ride on the road ever. Oh it may be a gas saving little car, but I got mine for more than the fuel ecnomy. I got mine for the artsy side of me.

I have owned a Smart since 2000. Forget about the size. Forget about the fuel economy. The best part of this car is the sheer fun you can have driving it. Its a go kart for the road. I have other cars but the smart always is a blast to drive. I have had mine up on two wheels and the electronics always save the day. Please dont just think of the smart as an eco box. It is a genuinely good fun car. Oh yeah if you remove the limiter it'll do over 100 easy. Oh and it'll fit 4 wheels in the trunk.

The thing is, there is no back seat so that you do not get ambushed. It get fuel economy like a Prius, but it only has 70hp in the trunk. I flatfooted, so I need a car that is economic and Fast.

Have a look at the crash test between a smart and an s class merc. The smart comes out very well. Also i saw a news clip of a German and his son who crashed into a ravine in a smart and only received cuts and bruises. Im not surprised people doubt the cars strengths. I build cars for a living and you have to see the smarts safety cell to apreciate it fully. It's impressive.

I agree that the fuel mileage isn't that impressive now. The early model with the Mercedes engine is far superior to the new version.

Well, for USA is the worst car in 10 years because this car can´t move their fat asses with the power and speed of their mustangs, also, they don´t fit on this nice car and it doesn´t produce as much pollution as the mustang does, that doesn´t like North Americans, they want pollution and big and noisy things. Thats why it is 1 of the 10 worst cars in 10 years (since it came out to the market).

my smart gets way better milage than a versa, i'm getting 45mpg in stop and go and 53mpg on the highway, put that in your versa and smoke it!

You are smoking the wrong stuff. The statistics you quoted are from the desiel engine. If the Versa has the desiel engine, it would produce the same if not better results. What a retards.

This car is anything but smart. You can get a Nissan Versa for less the cost of the smar car. The Versa will give you seats for five people and better gas efficiency.  The Versa will come with more standard equipments then smart car. The only thing smart about that car is the marketing campaign that get you stupid f'cks to buy it.
