  • what song is that? XD

  • This cat has no reason to survive in the wild. It's a clone who lives in whatever he lives in. He doesn't live in the wild.

  • Cats can see in the dark, lets see what happens if we shove his face into a this UV light.... Can we put it on national television?

    Good.

  • Comment removed

  • CNN live breaking news 'a pandemic sweeps the nation people are catching the glow bug, people have been seen glowing green or red all over the city stay in doors so you don't... start glowing?

typical if something is unusual it must be contagious, right?

  • @zidana123 obviously the one who has their head up their ass is you cause you dont realize the problem in the minds of the people who create this and many other nature manipulating experiments. you are clueless, but its ok, must be the flouride in your water...it is sure to kill your brain cells so you are an incompetent idiot

  • Shave him!

  • how is a clone not a unique individual? the fact their dna is not unique does not change that they themselves are.

  • Damn science.. You scary

  • People with brains should be outraged at this, they are doing stuff like this with humans too, splicing humans with animal and plants....look it up. Fucking around with genes is bad and using virus's to manipulate genes is the way to accidentally or purposely produce a pandemic. The general public is to dumb to think about these things. You really dumb enough to think they're doing this for a cure? and lose billions in medical care money......i dont fucking think so. Theyre trying to play god.

  • @HappyJackProduction1 "they are doing stuff like this with humans too, splicing humans with animal and plants....look it up."

Psst! Hey! Listen, I don't mean to burst your bubble or anything, but those links that you see on google and stuff aren't real! They're from movies! I know they seem realistic to you and all, but special effects have advanced alot in the last 10 years!

  • @HappyJackProduction1 "using virus's to manipulate genes is the way to accidentally or purposely produce a pandemic."

And how would it do that? Do you even know how viruses are used to introduce new genes into a cell? Lemmie tell you how it works. The DNA that codes for viral replication has been removed from the viral capsid, and has been replaced with the gene for splicing. The result is a 'eunuch' virus that is incapable of replication because IT HAS NO GENES THAT CODE FOR REPLICATION.

  • @HappyJackProduction1 GTFO Jesus freak

  • Aaaawwww - I want a glowing kitty! ^^

  • the cat has HIV

  • It's ADORABLE!

    I think i DIED

  • People never think of the complications this will cause in the future. Only the "Good" to be brought about in the present. Same thing happened with pesticides and genetically modified food crops, they thought it was good at the moment, but later on found it wasn't.

  • Oh my god, it's totally Feline Ex: Kitty Revolution!

    The Transkitties are here! :D

*pets and pets the Transkitties* :D

    What soft Transkitties. XD

*puts the Transkitties on pillows* XD

Come back, Transkitties! All is forgiven! D:

  • it looks like he just drew on the cats nose and ears with a uv marker...

  • Gene modification is very dangerous as it is impossible to foresee the unintended consequences that will occur decades from now. The danger is intensified because once you began altering human DNA you can NEVER, and I mean never, go back. In 500 years we might end up losing the ability to reproduce or something worse all because of gene modification done in our lifetimes to humans.

I will never allow my genes to be genetically altered, no matter what the purpose was.

  • @anonymous3227 "In 500 years we might end up losing the ability to reproduce or something worse all because of gene modification done in our lifetimes to humans.

I will never allow my genes to be genetically altered, no matter what the purpose was."

That's okay. In 500 years when we've lost the ability to reproduce, you'll be dead anyway.

  • You people are sick and in your brainwashed state of euphoria you believe that this is cute and good, then you wonder why your relatives die of cancer and other medical issues that are more radical then ever before and you wonder why your wife can't get pregnant, as you accept this as 'cute' then accept your misery cause the same people doing this are doing the rest.

  • @JeffDormus "then you wonder why your relatives die of cancer and other medical issues that are more radical then ever before and you wonder why your wife can't get pregnant, as you accept this as 'cute' then accept your misery cause the same people doing this are doing the rest."

My relatives are dying of cancer and my wife can't get pregnant because people are genetically modifying them to glow under UV lights?

    What fiends! *eyeroll*

You've got no idea what you're talking about, do you?

  • GMO's=Death

The globalist want you to love this, think it's cute so you'll remain calm when they are pumpin' YOU full of gene altering shit that will destroy you and all life on this planet. This "cat" is a good way to ease you into cloned humans, get you liking the idea of a cloned glow in the dark cat, calling it "normal". Anyway, they've already cloned people, it's not totally public tho

Monsanto is pure evil, and so are the thoughts processes behind making these "cats".

  • @onejoe2 "The globalist want you to love this, think it's cute so you'll remain calm when they are pumpin' YOU full of gene altering shit that will destroy you and all life on this planet."

Who is this 'Globalist'? Can I meet him or her? Is he like THE MAN? So far I've not heard of any organization or individual calling themselves the 'Globalist.' Are you one of those conspiracy theorists? Is the 'Globalist' another name for the Illuminati or whatever it is you people always babble about?

  • it seems very fake

  • @R0E0A0P0E0Rify it's not though its been done in Korea years back. I remember seeing this on David Attenborough BBC film..It has so many things u should check out like Glow in the dark Pigs an my personal favourite was a goat with spider genes... I instantly though YES a SPIDERGOAT! but alas it was just a goat that produced silk in her milk. Impressive stuff though

  • why don't they do that on humans? THAT WOULD BE AWESOME.

  • Man he looked like blue and i didnt see any glowing why with a blue light and not like light bugs.

  • Its glad awesome to know Scientists in this area are Zappa fans too!

  • don't forget your beans...

  • if they say that the cat will glow fully if you shave it...

    ...

they should do that to a sphynx cat!!!!! :D

  • I'm going to do this to my kid lol

  • Green? He looks blue to me.

  • @SirGriefALot That's just the UV light, his fur doesn't glow green, just his skin. You can't really see it in this video very well but search it on google and there are way better pictures.

  • Its torture. It's sick. Start testing on people rather than helpless animals to help discover cures of Cystic Fibrosis.

  • @smariet08 "Its torture. It's sick. Start testing on people rather than helpless animals to help discover cures of Cystic Fibrosis."

How is it torture if the animal does not suffer?

Further, let's say for the sake of argument that glowing under a UV light -is- somehow torture. Is it then more morally acceptable to you for a human to be tortured in place of an animal? If you can't condone torture of an animal, how can you condone torture of a human?

What's wrong with your thought processes?

  • Great video, epic cat, congrats to the scientists, and screw the haters.

  • no need for lights at night, just feed it

  • It's like sperm!

  • this is real and it can probably be done with humans too... if you don't know that then educate your self.

  • Whoa! Sounds like a new breed of cats or something

  • think about this for a second genetic engineering ALTERED THE DNA of the cat-isnt there so many other useful things that this technology could be used for? unfortunatly though there is law againt altering the dna of humans-if there wasnt we wouldn't have any genetic disorders- no retards-downs syndrome-alzhiemers-BOOOM its gone:we could even find the things that make us more scuceptable to diseases----you know, the ONLY BILL EVER DENIED by bush wa for stem cell research

  • ANIMAL ABUSE

  • fake

  • how is the cat supposed to sleep when it can see its own blood? :P

  • mr. green genes is an awesome cat!! how can you say he has no SOUL?? have you ever met him?! nooo, but i have because he lives with one of my good friends. he is so sweet and cool and is acts just like a normal cat except he glows in the dark. you sound like an effing moron talking about this cat like you've met it before.

and you'd rather scientists test on EACH OTHER than innocent creatures? yeah, because thats not playing god. again, you are a MORON.

  • So, i live with Mr Green Genes at my house in New Orleans and his' the man. Mr Green Genes (or Mr G as i like to call him) was mated with another cat and they had 3 kittens and all of them glow under blacklight too. He lives with two other cats and the other two are jeleouse that we always take him into a dark room with a bunch of people hahaha. He's a cool as fuck cat but usually pisses me off when he shits out side the litter box (usually cuz i dont change the litter box on time).

  • Oh and watch out all you catholic right winged shouldbeinalunnybin fundamentals that dont know squat about science, this is my cat and he is cooler than you and contributes more to society than you ever will.

btw "ireallydontremember" Mr. G says F*uck You!

  • I don't believe in cloning it is a sin ..its playing god and god don't like it.And I don't care who argues with me.

people are supposed to die not be resurrected (which cloning is in my opinion) . and the cloned "thing" has no soul you only receive a soul if you are born the way god intended .darn thing might as well be a stuffed cat

and now they mess with the poor things genes to make it glow .why don't they stop using innocent creatures to test on and use each other I HATE SCIENTISTS !!

  • Lol, if god disagrees with such an act and is all-knowing wouldn't he of done something. It sounds like you're forcing your opinions into the thought-pattern of your god, which is itself playing god now isn't it?

  • Then what do you think of twins? Naturally occurring clones, in other words?

  • identical twins are not clones. They are distinct individuals who originated from the meeting of one egg and one sperm.

    Clones are genetically engineered organisms

Identical twins, though they share DNA, are unique individuals .Comparing them to clones is not only unfair, but counterproductive to the development of individuation of each twin

Twins occur in nature, and in many species of animals--

clones are a creation of human beings, and as such, belong in a separate category.

  • @ireallydontremember clones are just the same as any other cat god or whoever is up there would never send any animal without a soul. i would never treat one animal any different just because he was a clone.

  • @ireallydontremember

The only individuation you could objectively be talking about is environmental and comes from time spent learning. In that sense a clone is individual the moment it experiences it's birth in a different place than the original. Other than that I don't know what factor you are referring to that makes the clone fundamentally different from a twin or even the original.

  • ok ireallydontremember, heres a very simple question, have you ever taken medicine of any sort? cough medicine? Tylenol? Benadryl? any pain med? nasal spray? antibiotics? cold/flu meds? eye drops? Vicks? cause guess what, by what your saying, all things that happen naturally are god's will and so getting sick, in any form, is god's will and by taking medicine to make yourself better, your defying god and "playing god"....so i ask again, ever taken any medicine?

  • @ireallydontremember you are a dumb ass. no one is playing god he would not ever make an animal or person suffer simply because they were born differently. they have souls just the same as any animal. slones are not exactly the same as who they were cloned from. they are different and unique

  • @ireallydontremember "I don't believe in cloning it is a sin ..its playing god and god don't like it."

Find me the part in the bible where God said "Thou shalt not clone."

Last I heard, it wasn't even remotely mentioned in the Commandments, and it wasn't hinted at at the 'Two Greatest Laws' as set by Jesus, either.

You say "I HATE SCIENTISTS !!". You know what the Bible says about that? "Love thy neighbor as thyself." Let's not mince words here. You're no follower of God.

  • @Zidana123 LOL, sin, you sheep are so funny. What do think sin is? its just a mistake, thats the meaning of sin. This has nothing to do with religion. Its flat out wrong because it could cause mutations and possible virus outbreaks.

  • @HappyJackProduction1 "LOL, sin, you sheep are so funny."

Sheep in what sense? Are you using it as a derogatory term for religious peoples? I'm an Atheist, btw.

"What do think sin is? its just a mistake, thats the meaning of sin."

Actually, the Bible defines 'sin' as any action which goes against the will of God.

"Its flat out wrong because it could cause mutations and possible virus outbreaks."

You don't know anything about genetics at all, do you? Do you even know what a 'mutation' is?

  • glow in the dark poison spiders pls so they dont bite us at night

  • it's trial and error, if they can make just a single cat glow by manipulating the genes of the cloned cat...then they can progress to much more complex things such as stronger immune systems, stronger cats themselves, faster cats. it's not the fact that it glows, but the fact that the cats genes were manipulated proving that they can change the structure of the cat through the manipulation. Yes it's cruel if the original cat dies, but we ARE the superior species there isn't much that can compete

  • They cant spend more time doing more productive shit though...

  • wtf you talkin bout son

Glow in the dark cats are totally useful

    THINK BOY

  • Um how about you think. THE FUCKING CAT IS A CLONE! Where's the other? Dead. Which in turn is fucked up how about I use your body to clone you do a spinal tap making you a vegetable and just discard you because your useless... THINK BOY

  • THAT WOULD BE AWESOME

my clone would live on after me

    :)

btw you missed the would point that clones cannot replicate cells causing them to age faster :(

  • @OhSnapNikka "Um how about you think. THE FUCKING CAT IS A CLONE! Where's the other? Dead."

I'm not sure what sci-fi movies you've been watching to come up with something inane like that. In real life, it's perfectly possible to harvest cells for cloning from an adult individual without harming the health of the adult in any way. Remember Dolly the sheep? You realize that there's hundreds of photos of her togther with her template, right?

  • they can spend their time trying to cure muscular dystrophy and cancer

but they rather make a cat lamp instead

  • And you can spend ur time working instead of wasting ur time in youtube,

  • good one republican

  • lol? republican? im From panama so aint in any side.

  • :]

    thats cute

  • awesome! 5/5

  • "It doesn't hurt him?"

    Stupid bitch.

  • I don't like cats but I would be cool to have a glowing cat... btw for how long do they glow, is it charged with light?

  • They glow constantly, They took the gene from fireflys. And they are not charged with light/.

  • The gene is from a Jellyfish and they only glow under blacklight.

  • Yes I know. They glow constantly under black light. And I relized that it was from a jellyfish after I posted this.

  • This project wasn't done for fun. It was done to create a marker for cystic fibrosis, a deadly disease in humans. A marker such as this can help scientists cure cystic fibrosis.

Another point is that the cat is not in any pain. He was cloned with the fluorescent gene in him, meaning it was part of the DNA introduced into an egg to create him. He was born just like a normal kitten.

  • I disagree, as they said it's cloned so if it wasn't for research this animal wouldn't be alive, and other than when it wonders what the hell is going on with its nose it seems to be a perfectly normal cat with no major problems. How does outright creating life mean jail time?

  • This is not abuse. The protein is harmless and fluoresces to produce light. All biological experimentation occurred before this cat was conceived.

  • @MrGreen0087156700 "Screw you man you believe what you want but fucking injecting neon, which is a chemical btw, is wrong."

That's so ignorant that I have trouble figuring out where to start.

First, Neon isn't a chemical. It's an ELEMENT.

Second, Nobody's injecting Neon. It's a bit more complex. The cat is injected with a gene from a jellyfish. The gene is made from the same materials your genes are made of. The gene then allows the cat to produce a specific protein that glows under UV light.

  • You're about as smart as a bag of rock aren't you?

  • Where the Fuck are you coming from? I just wasted my time on that other guy but with you? Bullshit im not wasting my time.

  • You made a comment and I commented on that. I stand by my assertation that your intelligence is on part with a bag of rocks.

  • At first I read that as bag of cock. I gotta stop watching that gay porn.

  • must be hard for it to fall asleep

  • lol XD and everyone around it. by the way, why is the that importand to science? XD

  • weird...

  • These "cancer research" societies have TONS of money coming in to them yearly. It's a very profitable business. They probably have found a cheap cure for cancer but have squelched any mention of it. Cheap cures don't interest them; expensive cures do. Built into the tenets of their "charity" is that they should disband WHEN a cure is found, because their services would no longer be needed. Wake up, people! Stop donoting to a bottomless pit!

  • I can't tell if you're kidding or not.

  • I just did a current event for school on this. P.S. the blue is a black light thats shows the green on him

  • Comments can't be gay. They're inanimate abstract nouns. They don't have sexual orientations.

  • pwned

  • @RepressedGeek pwned

  • @RepressedGeek but they are perfectly capable of being: happy, upbeat, or joyful; In other words gay.

The word "gay" has several meanings, this makes it a homonym. Isn't learning fun?

  • *snicker* Freakin' awesome.

  • It doesn't look like he's glowing, they have to shine that blue light (blacklight?) on him! He's a cool cat, but he's not glow-in-the-dark!

  • He is indeed florescent. That's not a light, that's the color he glows.

  • Man, this is pretty awesome. But bad for the cat; this way he can't sneak up on you in the dark! Ha.

  • ok, thanks for this, I am speaking up! I am showing this to my bio class tomorrow. We had been talking about fireflies and bioluminescence, and a student mentioned the glowing cat! Not bioluminescence, fluorescense.

I really appreciate you having posted this.

Now I gotta explain to them about "reporter genes".

  • It's no problem. I remember biology class well. I took it my freshman year. If you have any requests for educational videos in the future that you can't find elsewhere I find it and post it for you. ;) Anything to help out a fellow highschooler.

  • Actually, I teach college students, but this was for my freshman seminar, so I guess they really still are part highschool. But, thanks for the offer. I will have to check your other vids. I use YTs a lot in teaching- upper division classes as well. Adds to my "coolness" factor. :) Used your YT today, btw. Thanks again!

  • Sorry, I misunderstood. I have vids mostly about or relating to stem cells and/or their implications for our society, since I believe that will greatly affect us. They haven't affected the average person much yet but I believe that is due to ethics and the fact that scientists have to catch up with technology.

  • The fact that they can alter a gene and add information is the scientific breakthrough as it is. With this information, we have so many doors that have been opened to us to find the way to stop horrible diseases like Cystic Fibrosis.

  • Well put, straythestrange.

  • Gay is not synonymous for bad, or retarded, or whatever it is you are attempting to convey. food for thought, next time you decide to make ignorant, bigoted commentary.

  • yea it is do you live under a rock?
