I have the new design... I have six years of favorites reduced down to about 25. I had over 800 and 150 on playlist. All "controversial" videos will be gone.

Damn it all. I will say before, I didn't believe 2012 would be the end. However, look what happened to here. I'd say the fall of this site prooves the end of an era. How is it, that what was once a reputable company, get so ignorant to not satisfy user's needs, which hurt their own interests, which in then turn, stopped other major buisness names from working with them? That finally deep fried this place on the back burner to its end? They better prove me wrong and satisfy us users or they lose.
the best idea is not to boycott youtube because that is like cutting off your nose to spite your face but stop watching and clicking any adverts on youtube. I too LOVE the original version design. It gives me the ability to be creative with wallpaper/background, colors, text colors, avatar pictures and telling about myself and inviting people to be friends. I love all of this both in Youtube and in Myspace too!!

There's a youtube boycott for Feb 18 & 19 (superstitiousblackcat=dot=wordpress=dot=com/2012/02/06/21/), everybody that dislike youtube's new display should boycott youtube (not go on youtube nor view any of the youtube videos embedded on other web pages) on those 2 days to send a clear message to them! You should also add the AdBlock Plus add-on for firefox browser (which blocks all the ads forced upon us by youtube)...

I absolutely hate the new design. Nothing good about it, too much is lost and I feel as if my vids are devalued to tweets and have been shoved into the dark corner of my channel. Why cant they give us choice in design, you'd think by now Youtube knew their changes are always unpopular. Youtube wasnt broke until they started trying to fix it, and i bet this lattest change speeds up the sites ongoing decline.

By the way, there seems to be a push to go away from YT to a new site called Zipp Cast. They are making a lot of upgrades to accommodate the rapid growth due to people leaving YT.
The new design also does not allow a viewer to stay on the same channel & watch all of that particular YouTubers videos. In essence, if another video besides the FEATURED video is clicked,, then it takes the viewer to a different screen & away from the original channel.
We all spent alot of time tweaking our personal channels to convey our personalities.That's what was great about the TUBE!When you went to persons channel you instantly knew what they were about just by their page set-up. Now,we are all just in a grey prison box.! WTF? Where is the "YOU" in that?? And they made zippamegabillions big by using everyones videos! Freakin' traitors!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm with you, it's awful; I love the current/old design. I'll probably not use youtube as much if they go through with this change, it will be no good.
I like to show my subscribers as it allows people to get in touch with like minded people and gives them exposure. If people want to hide they don't have a channel on YouTube.
I don't like the new look anyway. I didn't like when they took the friends away myself.
Time to look for somewhere else, Ive googled 15 sites better than YouTube. Some of them offer better tools for making videos, Some spread your videos to all the social video sites, Once they get the big crowed jumping over they will offer more and more Bandwidth.
The fact that you can personalise your channel is one of the attractions to YouTube.
Sorry but Zipcast looks crap, really tacky. There must be better alternatives. We need a copy of the YouTube layout in its current form, but without the channel changes post March 1st. Anyone, designers?

That's good old YouTube messing around with formats and apps just as most people were getting use to the 'last' new and improved YouTube. This present format will NOT be user friendly than precious versions. I have already lost so many friends that had put so much time with creating videos that get pulled without notice and have nothing to do with YouTube to date..I will play this video forward dutchsinse and also participate with video boycotts that are being posted..

Zippcast are going to struggle against the likes of Google, if their search engine is anything to go by they will corner this market! However your design layout should be left upto you what you choose as long as it is within the realms of decency and is not racist or abusive then you should be free to do what you want, I mean the whole slogan Broadcast yourself, your channel is your identity? You aren't the only one. Youtube likes to rape us with change, and usually it ends up being for the worse. If youtube actually had a lick of sense, they would give us two options, and maintain the predecessor / old channel style. Forcing the change is like youtube saying "We are right, and you are all wrong. We are better than you and think this is the right thing to do." Then they proceed to flip the bird at all of us and laugh maniacally.

ON MARCH 1, I SUGGEST YOUTUBE ALSO CHANGE THEIR NAME TO "THEYTUBE" ... 'COS WE ALL KNOW WHO THE "YOU" IN YOUTUBE REALLY STANDS FOR (THEIR ADVERTISING PARTNERS). IT SURE ISN'T THE USERS.

Youtube only listen when it suits them OR if it puts their arses on the line (IE Copyright for example), I've had a video for months thats claiming it has a Jon B track in it (It doesn't, theirs nothing related to Jon B in the video in the slightest & is a mistake of their system), gone through all the process's & eventually emailed them for months on end & always get a generated pasted response, if any.
They won't listen, this new channel layout is truly the worse thing EVER by far!!
I have yet to find another site that gives acceptable video performance (i.e. an equivalent to 360p) on my *cough* slightly dated *cough* machine. Plus YT still is the biggest audiovisual archive on the net (I've found stuff on here that I wouldn't even have dreamed of years ago, going back to pre-WWII).
But yes, the new channel layout absolutely sucks (+ front page isn't great), at least for my purposes. It might do slightly better for a "publishing" type channel.

If I say that I HATE those new channels it does not even express the most infinitesimal particle of my UTTER DISGUST and DISAPPOINTMENT. I have been on Youtube for more than 4 years on a daily basis. I used to love the place and friends I met here. But I am not staying, so sad to say goodbye... We are all SICK and TIRED of google crap and spying on people. Time to look for somewhere else, Ive googled 15 sites better than YouTube. Some of them offer better tools for making videos, Some spread your videos to all the social video sites, Once they get the big crowed jumping over they will offer more and more Bandwidth.

That's good old YouTube messing around with formats and apps just as most people were getting use to the 'last' new and improved YouTube. This present format will NOT be user friendly than precious versions. I have already lost so many friends that had put so much time with creating videos that get pulled without notice and have nothing to do with YouTube to date..I will play this video forward dutchsinse and also participate with video boycotts that are being posted..

Zippcast are going to struggle against the likes of Google, if their search engine is anything to go by they will corner this market! You aren't the only one. Youtube likes to rape us with change, and usually it ends up being for the worse. If youtube actually had a lick of sense, they would give us two options, and maintain the predecessor / old channel style. Forcing the change is like youtube saying "We are right, and you are all wrong. We are better than you and think this is the right thing to do." Then they proceed to flip the bird at all of us and laugh maniacally.
With enough voices, would they listen to us? perhaps!

Youtube only listen when it suits them OR if it puts their arses on the line (IE Copyright for example), I've had a video for months thats claiming it has a Jon B track in it (It doesn't, theirs nothing related to Jon B in the video in the slightest & is a mistake of their system), gone through all the process's & eventually emailed them for months on end & always get a generated pasted response, if any.
They won't listen, this new channel layout is truly the worse thing EVER by far!!

I have yet to find another site that gives acceptable video performance (i.e. an equivalent to 360p) on my *cough* slightly dated *cough* machine. Plus YT still is the biggest audiovisual archive on the net (I've found stuff on here that I wouldn't even have dreamed of years ago, going back to pre-WWII).
But yes, the new channel layout absolutely sucks (+ front page isn't great), at least for my purposes. It might do slightly better for a "publishing" type channel.

the reason for this is youtube doesnt want people to use their service to make money, example if you subscribe to someone your face will show up on their channel..and that is sort of advertising. there are a lot of other reasons that i know i would rather not mention. i just really dislike the fact we are being forced to do this, its simple bullying. theres already a lot to
