  • I find this pretty good myself. Yeah peeps chill out and stop whining like the leetle beetches. lol.

  • You are the best!!! The only person who plays it right with the pinch harmonic bend!!!

    :) amazing!!

  • Thanks for the help. I always wondered how Boston got that harmony to work ALL together. Now I know :D

  • cool setup, sexy bends, i like it.

  • LOL a several bunch off noobs don't know what a harmony is! well played

  • This solo is not correct!!

  • @FrostySpin I heard yours and this one is much better.

  • hey mate. Great job on this and all of the other videos! I was just wondering how much did u pay for that guitar cause its gorgeous.

  • wrong

  • AWESOME also i have the same guitar, or at least it looks the same. i wish i could play like that.

  • u missed a mute bro but ur bends r sexy :P

  • lol people r not hating n saying "this is wrong" cuz they KNOW its wrong.

they do say it cuz they dont read the title of the video... IT SAYS HARMONY PEOPLES!!

  • Another excellent video...Thank you...to all the haters....can you really do better?? then upload and STFU!

  • People are retarded...If you don't like the video, Simply move on.....

  • Covering a song straight on every note is boring. If he's half a step or a step to high on his bends, it's his way doing it. If Boston themselves went live and bended a step to high, then everyone would just think it's cool...

  • i liked

  • great guitar. great song. now learn how to play it right.

  • were the last 4 chords G,D,A,D?

  • wow, that sounds like America. :D

  • How did you produce that Boston-like sound? What effects did you use? It sounds awesome, especially that last ear-piercing note!

  • Not bad at all. I am a perpetual guitar student so I watch just to hear and see others' interpretations. It is always fun to learn different things and I never ever comment negatively on someone's playing because there is always something to learn. I believe in motivating people, not beating them down. Keep up the good work man!

  • Your really good, I also prefer no commentary, I gnore all these people saying your doing it wrong, Its they who are looking up your lessons after all they cant play it.

  • How does he make the first bend sound like that? someone PLEASE send me a message on how to thanx.

  • oh my god, dont these people know the meaning of the word harmony?

  • green with envy, i wish i could play a guitar! alas a hand injury makes it impossible

  • dude that sounds beast nice job bro fuck you haters hes better then you

  • is there a way to call out the backing chords it's always confusing because the Bass is playing the Third in spots this may help those who understand theory.

  • It looks so easy when done by someone who knows how it's done.

    Thank you.

  • Can you post the tabs or provide a link to the tabs? Nice job on the solo.

  • When I play it I use a harmonizer effect on my Boss GT-6. It works like a charm every time. However, I am curious how you get that fantastic tone of yours.

  • It sounds kind of sketchy but I do like how you mixed one layer with the other.

For the know-nothing twits of critics:

Boston's sound is based off of several guitar tracks harmonizing into one unified sound, same with the vocal harmony. (The "Boston-ettes" if you will.) You have to play all the tracks at once to get the sound. This is just one way of composing the track into a single track harmony.

  • @happenstance314 Good to hear someone understands what I'm doing, cheers.

  • Isn't it called a guitar wall to get the true effects?

    good job on your part.

  • Is it worth criticizing someone so terribly, how much easier is it to just leave the video, seriously grow up, get some balls and post your own.

  • @Katsfriend1 Great, another stupid comment.

Sorry you don't like it this way, really - the vast majority of my subscribers comment that they prefer no commentary, play what you see.

  • @Katsfriend1 also at no point did he say its a lesson so plz take ur dumbass comment away, i learnt tons of stuff from this guy and i was shit and the start and still am but atleast i can learn by my ears and eyes not just tabs

  • @Katsfriend1 lol ur calling this guy a mute, when ur probably blind, it says harmony dude xP

  • man....some parts just don't sound right

  • dude, please tell me ur amp setting!!!!!!

  • Gibson Les Paul Custom?

  • this is very wrong... most the bends are a step too high...

  • @pacrat90

This is the Harmony part, in the song theres the natural part and over some of the bends theres a harmony

  • @Near14 That's correct - I play the harmony line on most bends, most don't seem to get that, even though it's explained, cheers.

  • @pacrat90 Not wrong at all, I play the harmony line for the bends.

  • this is incorrect. The first big bend is a step too high. Then again i might be too hi as well..... who knows.

  • @RyanETR Not incorrect - It's the harmony part that's all.

  • @classicrockriffs Yeah... except there isn't a harmony part at that point in the solo, so...

  • @RyanETR You are very right. A lot of this is wrong.

  • gibson les paul, duuuuuur :)

  • mann u rock!

  • I love the squeal at the :20 mark. That's not so easy to always get just right.

  • why do so many people watch these videos just to comment that its not right? if you know how to play why are u watching this lesson? if it really bothers you, why not upload your own "correct" version and shut the fuck up about it.

  • Why people critisize? The human 'ego' wants to feel superior, smarter, better, faster than others. The human 'spirit/soul' just wants peace. The 'ego' is highly jeleaous of others abilities beyond their own and is why it critisizes and tears down others in an attempt to remain superior. An unchecked inflated ego is the basis for most human evil in the world. Love Boston and playing guitar to it but could'nt resist my phsycologist explanation, hope it makes sense? Rock on baby !!

  • many, manyyyyyyy thumbs up.

  • is that why your watching then

  • not only that there can be many variations on how to play a song based upon tuning and where you are on the neck.

  • @BananaHammock407

    Yeh right on,

I think it's because they get jealous they can't do it that good themselves

  • sounds great dude nice job

  • Thank you...

  • does anyone have a full tab for this solo?!, I think that the solo sounds way better when you've put the two sologuitars together :)

  • if you want i can send it to you, it's for two guitars.....just send me the e-address

  • try my version!

  • at 0:19 was that a pinch harmonic?

  • i dont think so

  • sounds good.... the actual solo doesnt move past the 12th fret though

  • its a little bit wrong

  • do you have tabs for this?PLEASE:-).

  • yeah what he said!

    :)

  • hope this vid helps you guys..^

  • when you do it slow it sounds like a pokemon song lol and very nice dude

  • omg, great, man! very good.. How do you do that harmonic? =[ do u need a really good guitar and amp, etc?... xD Cya

  • great job, but ill have to say there are some off parts, but still great

  • Then youve obviously never heard the song its the TWIN HARMONY read the title dumbass.

  • sounds nothing like it to me

  • how the fuck does it not sound like it?

  • Read the fucking description. It's not wrong, just an arrangement of two guitars for one.

  • how does go fuck yourself sound :)

  • How does shut the fuck up sound? You were wrong. Man up and admit it and stop acting like an immature bitch.

  • Idiot.

  • yes so am i lol

  • Beautiful thats all i have to say

  • could you put this into tabs, pleez?

    it would be much appreciated

  • your very good.

but your tone is so fake.

do you understand what i mean?

    im sorry.

  • Look, he was the one who said it wasn't wrong in the info box. I said it was wrong regardless of what he wanted it to sound like because the second harmony was wrong. So maybe you should read the info box.

  • no i'm pretty sure it's wrong

  • Pretty much.

  • reed the info you retard

  • Comment removed

  • Normally I would argue with you, but I can tell you're not worth my time because you cant even spell READ correctly. Who's the retard now? (that's a hypothetical question...you don't have to answer)

  • You are just trying to get away from the fact that YOU were a retard for saying that when it says right in the info box its not supposed to be right/

  • No, I'm not trying to hide that fact because regardless of what he said in the info box I still know it's wrong. If u wanna pipe in so bad then why don't you send me the website of some tabs that have the second harmony on it because i know that's what you're going to point to next to try and tell me I'm wrong.

  • The whole point is it isnt supposed to be right, its supposed to be something he made to play over the solo with only one guitar.

  • don't sound right....

  • yea one part doesnt sound right

  • its cause he took TWO PARTS. and made them into ONE. is it that hard to understand?

    same notes different place

  • Not too bad. No offense though, but you shouldn't go freestyle on a classic solo like that though. It's just something that should never be done when it comes to rock and roll.

  • No fresstyling here - The original solo is played by two guitars, the 2nd guitar playing a higher harmony at various points.

My version here is a combination of the two guitar parts to still give a harmony feel for a single guitar.

So, no it's not wrong - just an arrangement of two original guitar parts guitars for one.

  • ha why can't anyone understand the term harmony..great job though! people just don't understand what you did her =P

  • I'm glad you understand it, cheers...

  • not bad but needs ALOT MORE REVERB!!!

  • i thought that was pretty hot man

  • I can't fault your skill, but get your earwax problem sorted cos you tone deaf, totaly wrong notes, have a look at rx66jp version. thats proper good.

  • Have a news flash for you his tone may be off but tabs are exactly as Tom Sholtz played them

  • Thanks for your endorsement! Seems most people can't separate the 2nd harmony line, or don't even hear it or realise it's there, so when played alone the 'different' sounds is thought to be wrong....cheers.

  • idk it sounds a bit off... still better than i could ever do tho.

  • Why do people give the comment a thumbs down when they say it sounds a bit off ( which it does ) and they admit that they couldn't do any better?? hmmm, nothing better to do I guess...And by the way, I CAN do it better!

  • is that an Epiphone custom les paul? and are you using a Line 6 amp, on the insane setting with low drive(i have a line 6 amp, so i was wondering)thanks

  • hey i went to your website and i really liked it.. i actually learned a few things from it.. but a tip that i may suggest is you need to make what fret and string your using more clear.. it was kinda hard to tell.. but everything else about it was aweosme

  • Sounds decent, but I was expecting a harmony with 2 guitars or something hehe. >_>

  • are you playing the harmony?

    awesome job!

  • There is only harmony in a few places, I play the main line then jump to the harmony line when it does come in.

    Cheers...

  • Awesome, not exactly the studio version but I don't think thats what you were aiming for... good interpretation. And yes there are is more than one guitar for this solo on the studio. Thats how you get that awesome guitar harmony. Nice job.

  • I like the way the note sounds at 0:20

  • That's a harmonic :)

  • i think you put too much vibrato in it and were out of key

  • I guess vibrato is a matter of taste, but it is in key.

    Cheers.

  • Nice try but you should see kbmusic pull that off

  • his is good, but I like the bends here more.

  • thanks alot, great playing... this is one of my favorite solos of all time :).

what amp did you use? and what did you use for distortion? pedal or amp distortion?

  • Thanks, I used a Line6 Vetta amp - just with the built in valve amp emulation for natural distortion.

  • Great classic rock song.

  • good playing but its wrong :P

  • Thanks, but it's not wrong - I switch to the high harmony 2nd guitar at the times it comes in as I think that sounds better as an arrangement for single guitar.

  • lol ownd

  • To me it sounds better to play the main solo with just one guitar---because that's what people mostly hear and remember---it just sounds right to them. But I like this one too. Nice playing of a great classic song!

  • haha not even close there buddy try playin it with the cd it wont match up

  • I switch to the high harmony in the places the second guitar comes in as a single guitar arrangement.

  • the solo is not so

  • i suck at vibrato while bending, you must have pretty strong fingers

  • No problem, thanks for coming back...

  • whoever is insulting him, shut up. Theres tom scholz with strange goldtop pickups and barry with an sg so toms guitar has strange sounds and racks of effects hes switching between both parts

  • No need to get aggressive with me, we're all friends here. Now, If YOU listen to the song you will hear there are parts where a second harmony guitar comes in. For a single guitar performance I switch to the harmony guitar line at these points as I think it sounds better overall.

  • If you listen to the original this solo is being played by 2 guitars. If you listen closely this is the riff that's less promenant you will hear this part as a harmony, giving more credance to the solo.If you could digitally break the song down into it's seperate parts, this part of the solo would be clearly audible. So it is right, but just not the "foreground" piece if you will.

  • THANK YOU - great to hear from someone who understands the original solo. Cheers...

  • damn, i need to get a guitar. my old one sucks and i havent played in months. love your vid man 5/5

  • First bend. How do you get taht crazy sound?

  • pinch harmonic i do believe...

  • ya man that bend is crazy

  • Rake across the other strings and start the bend slow ending with vibrato on the bend. There's no pinch harmonic on it.

    Cheers...

  • ur les paul rokkkkkz

  • i think its a les paul studio

  • the sound is good but the first time is a bit to fast .. but its great

  • So far this guy has the best instructional vids for the music i play :)

  • perfectly done

  • beutiful guitar

  • Damn both the solo and the guitar sound great.

  • Even though it is different from the song it's correct reading, meaning the tab was just wrong.

  • I have a book that has the tab, he played it right.

  • the beginning was kinda way off but good

  • Too high in the beginning, but good otherwise

  • you plays it wrong at 0:8-0:10 you playd it to high

  • can we have the tab PLEASEEEEEEEEE

  • search how to play more than a feeling solo the user is: spiderkill3r663

  • loved the pinch at the end

  • wat kind of guitar is that a menace?

  • is goo but plz post the tab beacause my computer is not very well to i see the video

  • its easy and cool

  • jezz like dang, sorry i didnt see the 2nd part but now i will!

  • dude thats an awesome guitar, and your playing is awesome to keep up the good work

  • awesome

  • slow it down for starters jezz

  • Didn't you get to the second part? And who's Jezz?

  • That sounding juts like Botson.

  • yeah funny that ..

  • its cool u decided to change some things it rocks

  • the timming is a fast and some of it is 2 high but part from that it rocks
