@ShocKWav2 imagine swimming in syrup, and imagine swimming in water, you wont be swimming anywhere near as fast in syrup , as you would in water, same sort of thing with breaking the sound barrier in freefall from a much higher altitude than a commercial freefall at no more than 15,000 feet. below 15,000 feet is like syrup, and at 100,000 feet, its like water, using that as a comparison, you will fall faster with less density of air

I dont understand how he can break the sound barrier when theres only a certain velocity that a human can fall at, and the speed to break the sound barrier is much much more than the rate of speed a human can possibly travel at ( Freefalling )

@ShocKWav2 imagine swimming in syrup, and imagine swimming in water, you wont be swimming anywhere near as fast in syrup , as you would in water, same sort of thing with breaking the sound barrier in freefall from a much higher altitude than a commercial freefall at no more than 15,000 feet. below 15,000 feet is like syrup, and at 100,000 feet, its like water, using that as a comparison, you will fall faster with less density of air

@laxinitup62 True, but once you hit 15,000 or 20,000 feet, the density starts to get greater, like this (Syrup Effect) you talk about, which will slow you down, but yes at 100,000 feet you will move at faster speeds.
Im using that ( Syrup Effect ) and ( Water Effect ) for physics class lol

@JHAAMYEESS When something breaks the sound barrier, like a jet, they don't hear it or really notice anything except maybe a white poof of condensation. You're already traveling faster than the sound behind you so a sonic boom wouldn't be noticed until you slowed down.

I think it will be a bigger jump with the shuttle missions cancelled its gonna grab way more attention. But we'll see, im just glad the legal shit is sorted out! @NASAvsPETE A man by the name of Daniel Hogan, who used to work for Red Bull, is suing Red Bull because he claims he came up with the idea back in 2004 and Red Bull passed on it. He feels he is entitled to a portion of Red Bull's revenue. The problem is that people have been trying to break Col. Joe Kittinger's record for more than 50 years so the idea wasn't Daniel Hogan's. Also, Red Bull didn't originally come up with the plan for Felix Baumgartner to jump, they simply funded the project.
