doubt F35A can carry as much payload as A10 internally since carrying externally will hamper the stealth of the aircraft and F35A will not be able to carry GAU-8 Avenger 30mm rotary cannon present in A10. I believe by that time, UAV will prove to provide better CAS and saving the life of pilots

@ninetalesnaruto1 I don't think they should be replacing the A-10 either but due to the lack of replacement parts they're just flying themselves apart now. I don't think the f35 will have the same rugged frame the A-10 had so we can expect them to not provide as effective close air support. Or if they do get down to the level they need to be to provide that support they'll be more at risk from ground fire.

Fair enough.

Personally I like this. It's a complete aeronautics nerd-gasm. Not to mention I like the looks of it. It looks so much sleeker than the F-22 (and the X-35 prototype which just looked like a winged barrel).

But yeah I've always liked the smaller fighters (F-16, MiG-29, J-35 Draken, JAS-39 Gripen and so on) more than the bigger ones (F-15, Su-27 and so on).
