- Where you influenced by modern american composers like Steve Reich and Terry Riley?

Fripp: For me, Reich and Riley were very important. Insy (?) too. >>

King Crimson has a particular way of doing things that transcend our different personalities.

I appreciate the publicity about the group except the ones who said I was the leader of King Crimson. May I say now that we are an entirely democratic group in which everyone has powers and influences that are absolutely shared. >>

When I was a kid, like 17, I used to really admire Robert Fripp and kind of bought into his cult of personality. I saw his one of his Frippertronics shows in 1981, I think. He was at the top of his game back then, but I must have been awfully gullible, too. Although I still like some of his music a lot, and I appreciate his religious view of music and dedication to craft, I now see clearly how insufferable the man is, and always has been.

He has walked over to the mic from his stool stage right after Exiles......Fripp-"gnosis" often did this in-between songs;.......not for every single show, mind you, but for most of them.....his mood at the time, place, and person determined whether or not he would engage with the "enthusiasts". :)
