  • yeah where was da trucking?

  • Im sure this has been said but this ain't truckin' its casey jones. just sayin

  • STL425 youtube channel.. Great version of Furthur covering Magnolia Mountain. Great footage of Jerry Garcia

  • Just saw them in atlantic city Saturday it was an awesome show.

  • Saw them in miami was absolutely stellar experience. Anyone know if they tour in the summer or fall ? I wanna see them again !!!

  • all good 2010 is gonna be awesome!!

  • @evanbasham

    It its!

  • wow cant wait till march 2 in chi town should be great!!!!!!!!!!

  • We need the rhythm devils. I'm impressed to see Joe Russo stepping up to this task, but Bill and Mickey are the only thing missing here. Jeff plays the keys great and John is perfect. Some people like Warren playing with The Dead and I do too... I just like this so much more.

And I also agree with all those who say let John sing Jerry's parts. Or at least give Phil some more mic time, every time I hear him sing I get shivers.

  • i saw them last wednesday in the city and i'm seeing them in new jersey again tonight... i couldn't believe it, i was truly blown away.. furthur has brought legitimacy to the post-jerry generation of heads, it's the closest we'll ever get to experiencing the real thing. I was on the floor the entire 2nd set and I couldn't even believe it. They opened the 2nd set jack straw into the wheel, just jammin' it out the way we all love. I wish john sang all jerry's vocals, only criticism... amazing yo

  • holy crap that got fast! look at the pure joy in bobby and phils face at 5:54

  • this video is AMAZING quality... damn!

  • I play guitar and Warren Haynes is one of my favorite guitar players, but he is not a good fit for the Dead. John was meant to fill Jerry's shoes. Perfect. Warren is much better in the Gov't Mule/Allman bros. setting. Totally different kinds of music. Go John! Go Warren!

  • I wish they'd just let John sing Jerry's parts. Bob stepping all over the vocal melodies. Still, this has the potential to be some of the best Dead music in a while. Warren Haynes is great and all, but I never really liked him in the group, it really took away from what the sound I was looking for. Hell, DSO might still be the best Dead thing going. We'll see if "Furthur" can go, well, further.

  • I am so excited for this group! I have seen some great Ratdog shows but I have seen some crappy ones too! Here, Bob and Phil are playing their songs the way they need to be played. No more sax player, and they even brought back the 2 drummers! If Billy and Mickey would just join in this would be a group I would follow to every east coast show! I don't want to see new songs (remember Wave to the Wind?) or hear some crappy pop/jazz version of the Dead. Stick to the original sound! ITS THE BEST!

  • Sorry guys...Warren sucked with the Dead. I love him with Govt. Mule and he can do some impressive stuff...but I feel he ruins the Dead expirence with his Allman Bros. style and distorted guitar. John from DSO plays Dead tunes WAY better than Warren and his guitar is clean and pure to the Garcia sound. After a bleak Dead tour, hearing Bob and Phil put on a show like this brings tears to my eyes! I have all three Fox shows on CD and without a doubt...the "Dead" sound we know and love is back!

  • ok i wasnt trying to bash warren i enjoy his playing to some degree, i would just like to see some other guitarists play with them more often, every show i have seen within the past few years has been with warren, i just happen to prefer it when they play with other is all ;)

  • i actually enjoy this lineup more then the warren haynes lineup. I dont think he adds the right elements to the band and would really like to see him step down.

  • it's not like he has to step down....the boys play with everyone and always have....it's about playing together and going FURTHER....since jerry passed....go FURTHER....

  • Warren Haynes was a key part to the deads last tour, this is good but so is Warren Haynes, way better than phish as well.

  • Jamjax, I completely agree, Bobby needs to relax a bit, and definitely give JK the Jerry songs... and is it just me, or does that look like the music is set in front of Bobby so he doesn't forget the lyrics to the songs as he usually does?

Well.. either way, these three shows were hands down the best Dead shows I've seen, JK couldn't be better for the part

  • haha. yea i think that in front of bobby is the teleprompter that they got (him and of course jerry because of his health at the time) in the early 90s. i havent seen him use it since then tho. thanks for pointing that out.

  • that guys fits so much better than warren

  • Weir shouldn't sing Jerry tunes - he always sounds so tentative and rarely gets anywhere near the actual melody of the line he's singing. And he play his way out of a wet paper bag on slide - it's simply wretched.

Other than that, the keyboardist is killing and, along with Phil, holding the band together.

  • Bob stop trying to play slide it never worked and it appears it never will

  • thats the beauty of ol' Bobby! i love how unnatural it sounds when he busts out the slide, especialy in little red rooster!

  • excellent shows. listen to jk kill it

  • I love Warren Haynes but not with The Dead. Have heard one too many Jerry tunes played southern fried rock style. I sure hope Furthur goes on tour.

  • I think I just vomited a little in my mouth. It's a shame they've resorted to having a fake Jerry play with them too. Sure wish they'd do something new and different as opposed to slowly spiraling into a sad caricature of themselves. And on top of it all, poor Bobby STILL can't play slide to save his life!!!

  • @ea7770 u obviously have no real compassion for the dead or what furthur is accomplishing... long live the music

  • those 3 nights were amazing. way to go Bob and Phil - you finally found the right lead player. Can't wait for Nokia !!!

  • Hello Joker! Phil had to take the train home.

  • Hello Joker! Phil had to take the train home.

  • Bobby I love some of your slidework. But relax a little and find the groove. Give up the lead. Love you.

  • Has anyone seen our friend, Phil?

  • The Boys are Back!!!!!!!!!! Yahoo!!!!!! Those were three fantastic shows. Thank you!
