I have the original two record set of Tony with McLaughlin and Young. I used to have the album of this Lifetime line-up with Bruce. McLaughlin and Williams NEVER cease to amaze. If any other guitarist has half the stunning milestones as John they could be prideful.
i have some of your videos in my playlist and personally want to say thanks for posting all the music you enabled me to view! thanks for helping me achieve a higher fidelity, from music I love, strait to my tube amps!!!
Has anyone ever heard of any live video of the this band, either the original lineup (trio) or the quartet with bruce? I can't imagine seeing these guys go at it. Anyone?
If this was recorded in 69 then Jack Bruce wouldn't have been in the band yet, he didn't join until march of 1970. If you listen to this band's first studio disc it really was amazing how well Young could handle the bass lines as well as play the melody with his right hand.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: Yes, the audio is annoying, isn't it?
Hunt around the music blogs and download the original album, if you want. I can't remember which one, but the fusion-based ones link to each other anyway.
The original recording's not so great, either. the bass is inaudible. I even tried re-recording this through stereo enhancers, bass boosters and the like.
Bruce didn't play in The original Tony Williams lifetime. It was à trio with organ, drums and guitat.
Cheers!

are there any videos of Bruce and Mclaughlin line up of Lifetime?
I saw them in Toledo. I was under the impression that it was their first US date. Bruce was playing a clear lucite bass with sheet music on the floor.
Emrgency cleared the room..it was brilliant!

@microdot - Sounds like Bruce may have been using a Danelectro clear plastic bass...???

@veniska1 - That's right - they were one of the first...before "fusion" got a bad name in the 70s...

Hello,
This is the first time I heard the playback of "LifeTime with Maclaughlin". Interesting!
BTW I also play guitar as left-handed. Your play seems like familiar with me! Anyway appreciates for your upload this video.
