  • you wasn't kidding, this songs is one of 'the greatest' (period)!

    which documentary is this from?

    thanks for posting this!

  • I had this album bought for me over 30 years agoand it is BRILLIANT even after all these years.

  • Ever since I was a little girl, I kind of enjoyed the male gospel singing groups (hope I don't get hit by lightning) - nothing against the lady vocalists. I love the Mighty Clouds of Joy. Used to love when I went to church on 8th Ave in Harlem in the 60's with my late Godmother. Some of my favorite memories were when the male vocal groups would perform at our little church !

  • I absolutely love this song...can anybody tell me how to get this version of the song? I heard it on the radio about 6 years ago and only 2 times since until I found it on youtube. I can listen to it for hours. I-tunes has a slower version. Please help if you can!

  • i love the studio version. But a live version is priceless, and this man is still hitting the same notes! Come on how much louder could an angel blow the trumpet.

  • The second guy in clip at 0:38 looks like Bernie Mac.....LOL

  • the correct one is the disco version..its on a disco album with disco stars..though this is the gospel version...they have it on CD ... it's a disco compilation

  • They have a cd release of the Groups Gospel almbum called The Mighty High. If you are into gosple music it is a wonderful addition to any cd collection.

  • Are they're to versions they made of this song because I try to find it and when I listen to mighty high it's sounds different than this. Even trying to buy the song I can't find this song.

  • Pure old fashion Soul Gospel.

  • 1976

  • it waz 82

  • This was 1982!! I have the video at home and thats what the dvd indicated on the box!!

  • I don't think this was 80's judging by the bow ties and lapels. maybe '78 or '79 at the latest. They were AWESOME!!!!

  • is this the tape of them in 1976 or so? if so where can i get this tape ? please let me know thanks.

  • No this look like something done in the 80s
