  • I got a comment saying I have not been to New Bern lmao. I retired from Cherry Point and live in Havelock...and again I say, who would want to live/travel to a shithole like New Bern. You think it is great, stay down in 5 points for a night!

  • 5 Points ! He would not LIVE through the night to talk about it, unless he is Force Recon or a SEAL or some such.

  • Why would anyone want to take a trip to a shithole like New Bern?

  • you haven't been to new bern, dickhole

  • I'VE been to New Bern, and except for Middle St., Craven St., and Tryon Palace during the DAY (you'll get mugged at night), I agree with jimmymac63's assessment: shithole.

  • you haven't lived there

  • In fact, I did live there, but moved away. The wages were so low, even compared with the modest (not low, as real estate agents would have you believe, but modest)cost of living, that I moved away. I probably would have eventually moved away in any case, but the barely-over-minimum-wage mentality of employers there sped things up.

  • but that's for only like fast food places and mostly jobs, not careers

  • Outside the medical field, there are few career type jobs in New Bern. Look at the official stats for NC, Craven County (not Lenoir County, as your vid would seem to indicate) has one of the lowest average wage rankings in NC. Yet, it is not any cheaper to live in. I actually paid less rent in Raleigh. if you compare Craven to Wake County, you will find wages an average of $9K/yr. higher in Wake Co., but cost of living almost equal. Don't take my word for it, look at the official figures.

  • i see your point but...

    1) this isn't my video.

    2) you are talking about rents for apartments.

  • You are absolutely correct about the video, I see Caixas did that, I stand corrected. Yes, I am talking about rents for apartments, most other things in Raleigh, I found to actually be CHEAPER than New Bern, due to more competition. Not to mention a vastly better selection of anything you wanted because of more stores, more restaurants, more everything. New Bern has some history, that's about it.

  • i guess i can let you keep your opinion..

  • It might be flat, but there's no traffic so consider yourself lucky. Come to the San Francisco Bay area and drive around. It's a huge mess.

  • That's not New Bern

  • no crap...the video is TRIP to New Bern...we are on the road.
