I think people misunderstand some of the gigs they choose to do in America. The Today Show isn't a concert. You go to The Today Show because it's The Today Show. Same thing if they go to Ellen, the people are there to see Ellen, not Coldplay ..as awesome as Coldplay may be, they're a musical guest, not the main attraction.
