Fact is Duane is asleep in death awaiting a resurrection, at his death he paid his dues for being a sinner like the rest of mankind. I look forward to the time @ Revelations 21:3,4 where death is swallowed up forever. If you all want to be there I would start reading up on how to get there study hard and live it like you mean it. The end is only gonna get tougher so brace yourselfs up with the Holy Scriptures and may Jehovah's peace be with you.
@jimajw I saw the original line up many times and for some reason, as good as Warren, Derek and Otiel are, they can't seem to equal what Duane, Dickey and Berry Oakely did the first three years the band was together. I guess they just don't have the fire for the ABB like Duane, Dickey and Oakely since they are really replacement players and have yet to write a Whipping Post, Blue Sky, Southbound, Jessica, Liz Reed etc. We are seeing more or less a replacement band now and I'm about done it them.
This was from their 40th anniversary shows at the Beacon. Derek Trucks playing 2nd lead. I was at the final night. Bob Weir and Phil Lesh were among the guests.
I love the screams you can hear from the crowd to "Bring Dickey Back"! I love me some Bros...but I still think they are wrong without Dickey...I often wonder...what Duane thinks of how they did Dickey?
@Peachess1965 What Duane thinks? You mean what he thinks in heaven? (No disrespect but I see a lot of comments by people who think he's still alive...the idiots
@Noseheros Yes...from heaven....I know he no longer walks the Earth & hasn't for a very long time...but I still belive he watches. I have no doubt he was watching over Gregg during his liver surgury & recovery. I'm sure he was there while Gregg was recording his first solo album in over 14 yrs too and in 11 days...although I know he isn't here in body...I'll still wish Duane a Happy Birthday!
