  • the singer is actually very good...perfectly integrated in the atmosphere of the album...

  • Why is Adam Sandler Singing Lol Jk KAMELOT \m/

  • It sounds like a lot of mark notes are flat.

  • I hated Mark Vanderbilt at first, but his voice is growing on me.

  • I think Mark Vanderbilt is better than Roy Khan. With Mark it really sound like Metal!

  • @B5Sybok Different styles of singing.

  • What is up with people thinking that shittier singers, who seem unable to hold a note without it decaying down a half step, are better?

    Roy4lyf

  • Oh... my... god... I am scarred for life. Now that Khan left, it would be a bad move letting him back into the band.

  • @SMBGamer

    what are u talkin about?

  • @ds4 I take it back. He's growing on me!

  • @ds4 I think he meaned by 'him' -> Mark :-s I think the same....I don't like this stile ... he is pushing toooooo much that voice...and I don't see mark singing forever....he would die on the stage :D

  • @ds4 He has grown on me a lot. With the first two albums, the singing is ok, but the actual music is genius.

  • @SMBGamer KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!!

  • @SMBGamer Your comment made me realize he did leave the band, I didn't even know yet...... I really like the old songs with the old singer... and I understand why Kahn did leave... but it is going to be a hell of a job to get someone as good as the old two!!

  • @SMBGamer Khan never left. this is the original Kamelot when Mark Vanderbuilt (sorry if the last name is wrong) was lead singer. they kicked Mark out and found Roy.. They've skyrocketed ever since.

  • @arthisios Khan left quite some time ago..:(

  • @arthisios He announced his departure on April 22, 2011.

  • @SMBGamer yeah, I found out after I saw this :( Khan's departure is unsettling. I wonder what future Kamelot has now that Roy left.

  • @SMBGamer ????? WTF why the hell u think that shit

  • @SMBGamer It would be really funny if Mark Vanderbilt actually did rejoin Kamelot! xD

  • i like this guy better than roy and i've only been listening to these guys for the last 10 mins.... and i started out with roy cause i was listening to blind guardian and saw them on the side and decided to listen to them, did and it felt like i was listening to gothic opera music sorta then looked up their history and found out they had a singer before him and here i am and i like this guy hes good...

  • @greycarngex so?

I like Roy better but sure this singer is good!

  • did he srsly sing about RAINBOWS?

  • Okey ppl...Roy Khan is fucking great singer..but saying he is the best singer in the existance is blasphemy.

    End of story.

  • People don't think that Mark Vanderbit is good because they heard Roy Khan. Roy Khan is the best singer who ever lived. You can't expect anyone else to be better, because it's impossible, not that Vanderbit doesn't kick ass, though.

  • Mark vanderbit sounds like bruce dickinson.

  • Kamelot with MArk were for an entirely different audience than the one they target with Roy! Thats why he cannot be appreciated by the new Kamelot fans! Unfortunately that trading destroyed two special bands! Especially Conception who were incredible and Roy was glorious there!

  • @Crigito hey, kamelot keeps on being special! ;) but you are right about Conception! they were awesome!

  • Mark Vanderbilt!!!! exellent!! he is the master

  • Can't imagine a kamelot without Khan.

    Dickinson>Di'Anno

  • Vanderbilt is a great singer. Khan is on a whole different level, but this kind of singing can be nice at times too.

  • I don't see how you jackwagons can say that Roy is better than this dude. I have never heard roy hold a note as long as this cat...i do like both though.

  • @icederth1 In my opinion, Khan is a much better singer. I like the awkward harmonies Vanderbilt gets in this. Very little short of genius, nut I think Khan is closer. Both great.

  • @drummer8616 I prefer Bruce Dickenson over either, but I'LL take what i can get nowadays

  • OH DEAR.

  • where is this badass shit from

  • @BRUCELEONIDAS Kamelot's ass, were else does badass shit come from.

  • This is not really one of my favourites off of that album, too many other good songs on it, but I love the guitar solo. It fits so nicely, very well written.

  • omfg!! i like roy khan but this mark vanderbilt also has an amazing powerful voice

his voice totally matches this genre!! any other band he sings in?

and yerps i think kamelot wouldnt be where it is today without mark vanderbilt...

    amazing voice gives u chills

people only dont like him cuz they heard of roy khan firstttt

i heard both around the same time so i tink both are great ;)

  • Yea, Khan is better, but come on, give Mark his due, he's pretty damned good himself. Besides, there's a definete different sound in the two, with mark Kamelot has a more power metal sound, which suits his voice, with Khan they swith more into sym/opera metal, which is way better for Khan's voice, but they're both good singers, any true Kamelot fan would realize that. Kamelot's my favorite band, and my two favorite songs are The Gleeman and Love You To Death, one's by Mark, one Khan.

  • No offece at all to whoever is singing but i like Roy better, his voice fits better and doesn't seem so... forced? im not sure i think it sounds forced maybe not...

  • Roy Khan is WAYYYYYY better but i think Mark Vanderbit is really good. Kamelot is my favorite band

  • ohhh fucking EWWWW i love kamelot but wowwww...

  • why everyone says this singer sucks?he is pretty good but NOT unique, generic power metal voice but still good.roy khans voice IS unique and one of the best of metal

  • ... not to put this down, but I like new Kamelot and Khan better....

  • I like the instrumental but I can't say I'm too fond of the singer...Roy has more talent IMO.

  • Khan is so much better.

  • i have alwais loved quinsrtryche and black sabbath.

the kamelot i 10 times stronger...i love it

  • Fantastic song.

  • this song isnt that bad. it does sound completely different than Kamelot now. I think if they kept this guy they wouldnt sound as epic as they do with Khan. i cant imagine this guy singing Center of the Universe and pulling it off. but his voice is also great. it suits more a power metal band.

  • @crazysheet101 Not to mention that I doubt Center of the Universe would have came to be, as Khan helped write it.

  • @griggins tis true my friend

  • una onda geoff tate

  • I'm not an expert really, but isn't this singing even objectively pretty bad?

I love everything Kamelot made since Fourth Legacy, but this track... I wouldn't even have recognized it's from them.

Incredible how much the band improved in less than four years. And made that leap from the old singer to Khan!

  • @ForceDestroyer

it's great singing, just completely different from Khan.

And FYI something being good or bad is ALWAYS subjective, NEVER objective.

  • i think this dude is pretty good too has his own style

  • jeez...glad they got Roy this dude's all over the place...

  • ¿por que no simplemente le cortan cuando se acaba ¡¡y ya!!?

  • guy sounds a bit like Geoff Tate.

  • @Laihoistheman I'd say he sounds more like Midnight of Crimson Glory...

  • you cant compaire Kamelot 2 halloween at this era, after Roy Kahn joined they sounded a million times better! and IM MY PERSONAL OPINION! Kamelot (when kahn joined), is better than halloween.

  • ive never heard this song before its okay

  • dude, kamelots fucking awesome, you just picked the wrong album when they had a bad "wailing" singer lol

  • And what exactly should be wrong with mainstream metal? :P

  • Yeah, the new singer kicks this guy's ass.

  • No... He doesn't...

  • @sasman888

this is with kamelots old singer. listen to a song with roy khan it will blow your mind. check out soul society, black halo, wings of despair, or descendent of the arch angel. the singer in this video doesnt have anything on khan.

  • I really don't get how you weenies don't like this.

  • @Fluffypopcicle

The singer may not be as good, but its still damn good metal.

  • try other kamelot songs

  • Fuck off, assman.

  • :O this is not bad at all, with Roy's voice this would be Perfect tho ;p

  • After Mark vanderbilt left the band, thats when Thomas started to write his own songs. if you look at the lyrics fo rthe 1st 2 albums, all the songs are written by Warner(the drummer). When he & vanderbilt left, thats when Khan came to the band and they started writing for themselves.

  • Roy might not be a better singer for all we know, but just a better songwriter.

I think there is a big difference, Khan sings more about religious things and this guy seems to have... no motivation whatsoever...

  • No way khans voice is used properly and he sound amazing

  • i just hate how this guy wails you know?

  • Yes.

    Originally it was:

    Mark Vanderbilt - singing

    Thomas - guitar

    Sean Christians( i think ) - bass

    and Richard Warner - drums

    now it's

Roy Khan, Thomas Youngblood, Glenn Barry, Casey Grillo and Oliver Paletai(or something)

Glenn Barry replaced the Sean guy in '92 so him and Thomas are the only people who were in the band for all the CDs

  • i like it! it reminds my metal times.. and the vocal is pretty good.

  • is not bad at all, but i still prefer Roy's voice

  • This is .. Old Kamelot huh?

  • yes it is, with Mark Vanderbilt

  • And Richard Warner instead of Casey Grillo. I prefer both Casey and Roy more. This is actually pretty good though!

  • bull shit? why?

  • @ds4

Because people who are fans of current Kamelot usually hate Mark Vanderbilt's voice. xP

  • @ds4 Because his voice sounds like he's being raped while attempting to sing. Crying men don't sing all that great IMO.

  • @TheKatanaDemonify This is Kamelot with the old singer mark

  • this sounds like axel rose

  • Oooh God...

    This singer sucks! :P

    But Roy kicks ass :D

  • sounds pretty good to me

  • They should redo this song with Roy.

  • sounds like tate..

    Saludos

  • SALUDOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • care to explain why the video keeps playing for like 3 minutes AFTER the song is over?

  • properly 4:54.

it's time of this track, empty space is my fault.

like they say: shit happens ;p

  • Couldent you just have stuck it into windows movie maker or something and taken off the extra time? Thats all I was woundering.

  • lol in canada shit happens XD

  • @justynbirds some vids keep playing because of the compresion program that some are using to create the hq efect for youtube without having a hd hardware...but in this case this is not the answer....is a human error :D

  • Eew Roy is so much better!

  • And this is actually one of the songs where this singer doesn't sound as bad. Kamelot didn't really become good until Khan joined.

  • terrible singing, more like whining, roy khan is sooo much better

  • The Singers are Both good, you shuld really try to sing like that, i guess you cant talk 3 Days after,...

  • i think its better now Roy khan is in

but the old Kamelot still kicks @ss!!!!!!

  • Actually, the next album was Dominion, which still had Mark Vanderbilt. Khan didn't join until Siege Perilous.

  • To Me Kamelot is AMAZING even more so than Rhapsody even though the similarities are undeniable

  • WHERES MY ROY KAHN?!?!

  • But if they had had Khan from the beginning, they would be on top of the world.

  • But you have to consider that this is, like, 80's metal, so it is classic. This song is actually good, considering Mark Vanderbilt's vocal "skills."

  • Strike that. 90's metal. Either way, it's still good, though I like the newer stuff better.

And this is breadmold5's other account, answering any possible confusion.

  • it's 80's styled. It's essentially quintessential 80's power metal...

with a lot of Iron Maiden influence.

  • Good point. It does sound quite a bit like Iron Maien.

    Anyway, the song kicks ass.

  • Kamelot has done a lot better with Khan as vocals, there's no questioning that. And Mark Vanderbilt is not exactly a vocal god. However, Kamelot's first two albums are all right, though after picking up Khan they did a lot better.

  • Whatever... the old shit still kicks ass.

    Kamelot=Favorite music.

  • True to both statements.

  • Omgawd i just love the old songs^^ rhydin and black tower are fab^^

  • Thomas Youngblood Is Prolly The Best One From Kamelot Current And Before. He Has Some Wicked Rifts.

  • Love The Solo!

  • You can't really compare their voices, they are of completely different styles. They are both excellent vocalists.

And please, Vanderbilt does not sound a bit like Bruce Dickinson...

  • yeah, but i think it can be said for certain that the changing of vanderblit for kahn was certainly a better direction for the band to go in (i.e. kahn suits their style better than vanderblit)

ans also, this song is kind of reminiscent of March of Mephisto (or the other way around i guess). jsut noticed that. anyone else agree?

  • That is definately true, Cavallo.

And yes, I can find some similarities as well.

    A good remark there!

  • Lol Iron Maiden? xD

    I like Khan better

    No one beats a God

  • god im glad they got khan cause thier old guy sucked so much ass

  • don't be so malignant man :)

  • oh sorry i just really like khan didnt mean any disrespect.

    lol its good man.

blessings upon you and your family =D

  • one of my fav songs

  • I like Khan better.

  • Everybody Keeps Putting The Short Version Of His Name While I Write The Whole Thing Lol.

  • lol i didnt know his whole name :) it sounds ekhm nice :D

  • ja ja ja ja... yea, I prefer Khan voice also

  • I prefer khan - he is not bad, but khan is awesome =)

  • The Guy Singing In This One Is Very Good But I Still Love Roy Saetre Khantatat. They Have Different Sounds So I Can't Really Say Which Is Better.

  • Roy Khan is very good, but Mark Vanderbilt was the best of all times!

    Vanderbilt rulez!

  • i dunno he seems quite nasely kocsogreg

  • The singer sounds like Bruce Dickinson! :D

  • Yup but it's not. :P

Mark Vanderbilt would be the name... :)

  • i prefer Khan voice...

  • me too, but this is my favorite song from Eternity ;)

  • agreed. Khan is still the best, but damn Kamelot attracts some fine singers! Rock on.

  • i like most of kamelots newer stuff, but this is pretty good also!

  • I should add it's Khan's vocal chords I'm talking about. ^^' And I was agreeing with shr3dmasta.

  • Quite interesting to notice that this guy sounds like Khan with a really really bad cold.

  • ROFL!!!! I have to say that i love your comment, but i kind of disagree with you on one part:: This guy doesn't sound like Khan with a really really bad cold, but like Khan with a really, really, really, REALLY bad, deadly cold...

  • Sounds like he has a sore throat.

Khan is way better and actualy made it to more albums.

  • Vanderbilt? OOhhhhh black towaaaahhhhhh what is your powaaaaaahhhh? What makes men run and hyyyydeeeee? I can see eviiiilll in the dyyyyeeaaddd of the niiiigggghhtttt.

  • Lol, Seriphyn, hilarious comment!

  • My favorite Kamelot song. I suppose most of you don't appreciate 80's metal.

  • i know i do:P

  • i do :O

  • khan = best vocalist to ever live by the way.

  • Can't but agree. His vocal chords should be on UNESCO:s world heritage list.

  • Aggree! :)

  • I wanted to know how the old singer sounded for ages! Thanks for uploading! :)

I still prefer Khan but this is good too.

  • What the people talking about?

Mark Vanderbilt is 10x better than Kahn.

It sounds like Crimson Glory. But who cares? I like Midnight and Crimson Glory too.

  • hmm, I think it sounds like Crimson Glory but only in song Lonely, it's my opininon and also I like Lonely too ;)

  • Vanderbilt better than Khan? Hmmmmm, not in my opinion, but hey he is still way better than most of other singers out there.

  • I agree...I think Vanderbilt sounds a lot like Geoff Tate. There's times when I listen to "Eternity" where you'd think that it was a long lost Queensryche album.

  • @Lincoln6Echo1 Part 1: I didn`t talk about Geoff Tate (Maybe one of the best metal singers). This comparison was when the first album of Crimson Glory (1986) came out. At that time you have no other singer/band for comparing. Than a lot of people said that Midnight voice is similar Geoff Tate voice. But I think there are a lot of differences between the two voices.

  • @Lincoln6Echo1 Part 2: My statement was that Midnight and Mark Vanderbilt had a very similar voices.

And also the appearance are similar. (blonde hair and so one). It is diffucult for me to comparing the faces, because Midnight wear always a mask on the Crimson Glory photos.

  • Fair enough, but I'm not the only one who has made the Geoff Tate comparison. One of the reviews of Eternity on Amazon has said the same thing I was thinking and I was thinking it before I even read it. In fact, I couldn't believe the similarities between my thoughts and his as I read it.

  • I had this album and for some reason a give it away, now im looking for it and the only place that i can find it is on their web site or in the CIBER FLEE MARKET ''EBAY''.This front man is not as good as KAN but i still like it cus is the first kamelot album and you can tell the diference of the evolution that they came with.Red SANDS is the best song on this record.I like KAMELOT alot.thanks for puting this on the web i realy like it.

  • You are welcome :)

  • the new singer is way freaking better...this 1 sounds like a girl

  • Let's rate Kamelot to the top 10 videos! =D

    WE x3 IT/ Metalhead'z

  • This album sounds alot like Crimson Glory.

  • I like Khan much better, but this is still some good stuff. I'll end up buying this album and dominion anyways just because i'm Kamelot crazy

  • Do what I did. I just put them aside for collection purposes.

  • This song is sang by they're pervious singer Mark Vanderbilt. For those who care.

  • I was wondering that, when I heard the album it sounded nothing like Khan.

  • And he also was the first founder of KAMELOT and the keybord player those are the founding fathers of kamelot.

  • I like this band, I bought the album ghost opera and its genious!

Thank u for upload this song!

  • sorry for empty part
