hahaha thought the first video response was the guy from one direction... then i really it couldn't be cause he doesn't play an instrument nor does he have a music taste.
@zapspace Yes but Norweigan wood is a much better song. The Beatles and Dylan had a mutual respect for each other but Lennon /McCartney are better songwriters
@baxtersave96 Let's say: they're different songwriters. John and Paul were inspired by Dylan's lyrics and attitude. Dylan was inspired by the energy and "bluff" of the British invasion guys.
@AgujaAzulMD I am a George fan - but even he had his moments - tossing drinks at photographers, yelling at the press, cheating on his wife....He at times could be quite the punk. You just need to watch some of the earlier interviews...
I heard that this song was about a woman who John wanted to have an affair with but she turned out to be lesbian then he wanted to burn the house down because it was made of norweigan wood. :D
Norwegian wood was an interior design term for a style of home furnishing using natural- finished pine. The song is about the changing roles of women as she takes him back to her house feeds him her wine and then leaves him in the morning.
The song is about a one night stand that wasn't. The woman is being a bit of a cock tease, inviting him back to her place, giving him wine, and then ultimately saying "Well, I've got to work in the morning. Time to turn in." Lyrics: I once had a girl, or should I say, she once had me - "had" meaning she pulled one over on him. This is why some suggested the woman in question was a lesbian.
Well, I heard that originally it was "Isn't it good, I knew she would", but apparently it didnt go well with their producer at that time and so Paul replaced it with the first thing that fit. Namely, "Norwegian Wood".. i am not sure how true this myth is though
My band Chandrama just posted a video on our channel, a cover of George's "It's All Too Much" with sitars and things on it, and sung in Nepali. The Beatle's organization was super easy to deal with on the licensing approval. We hope George would have approved. You can see it on our channel, and please do.
For me, this is the absolute best Beatles song. The first time I heard it I was totally paralyzed because of his... Greatness. It doesn't bring a grin on my face (for example, all you need is love does that everytime) but it calms me in an incredible way. For me, the text is -sorry- unimportant, it's something in the tune. This sound is so deep... So huge... So relaxing. The whole world stands still if I hear it, I am completely hypnotized. I just LOVE it. Thank you, Beatles. Thank you.
@ShrimpyJess97 no one really knows what its about besides the beatles themselves.. their intent was to make people relate it to their lives in some way and if you can do that at least.. your a beatles fan.

@chyo1 Yeah, so do a lot of people, I don't have anything against that. I just have something against people saying how bad this song is or The Beatles. Real music has meaning. Not rap about girls' boobs or getting high. Granted there are some rap songs with meaningful lyrics, but I think anyone will agree that the majority does not, as is with most music these days, unfortunately.
@MrBuc128 A Gibson J160e. Perhaps you've seen pictures of it.It has a sunburst finish and two knobs volume and tone I think. He also used this guitar for I Feel Fine . The guitar he uses for Give Peace a chance in bed with Yoko is also a J160e but that one has a natural finish. Also a unique feature of this guitar is the pickup located where the last fret would be before the sound hole.
@lob287 Wow that is a shit load of information.I appreciate your knowledge. I do know what guitar it is that you are referring to I have seen John use it.

Tips to know who sings a song:
Paul has a sexy, lingering voice.
John has a raspy, highly-forced voice that sounds good even when you'd think he's out of tune.
George has a high, cool voice.
Ringo has a very deep, macho voice.
Hope this helps.
