  • @Masterxhero lolololololol so funny

  • This bird had flown...

(Charles I: "I see the birds have flown")

  • @beantownbig3 Hmmm...seems like you're the one being a fag talking to everybody and whatnot. Trust me, I love the Beatles and that should be obvious, but it's not like I have to comment about them. So I was just commenting on another person writing a stupid comment.

  • listening to this after reading tokio blues (;

  • The comment below me is stupid.

  • @SYoungMuseGuy dude...really? why be a fag when you could just enjoy the music? or just write something good about the song?

  • Comment removed

  • @beantownbig3 yes

    I get that you're a fucking idiot

  • @MrGeorgecave hmmm...i don't see why there was any need to say that...

  • hahaha thought the first video response was the guy from one direction... then i really it couldn't be cause he doesn't play an instrument nor does he have a music taste.

  • 9 people couldn't get a girl

  • Been thinking a lot lately about that suade jacket that John is wearing on the front of Rubber Soul xxx

  • Soo.. he set fire to this girl's house?

  • Maybe he was visiting Kesha; she always sleeps in bathtubs.

  • 9 people didn't sleep in the bath! (I love offending thumbs-downers!)

  • Why would 9 people dislike this song. Did their mums not heat up the porridge correctly

  • @bibsteenson,

No dude, 9 people never had a girl (or maybe girls never had these 9 people)

  • Beatles. Best ever. Period.

  • this song is wayyyyyy too short

  • @coffeyvideos a lot of their songs were unfortunately

  • I love when my "boyfriend" sings this to me when I'm falling asleep on the microphone... god bless Skype... c:

  • @GothicSandra Well, if you knew the back story of this song, you would also know why he was singing it to you.

  • @GothicSandra what's with the quotes? is he imaginary? are you singing to yourself?

  • This song is about a memory of a woman that he had a one night fling with him and were friends and they shared a memory. I believe..

  • @davebeeby1967

John said that he wrote this song about him having an affair while he was still married to Cynthia

  • what is this song about?

  • @TheLocalcat About John having a one-night with an Norwegian.

  • i love the beatles <3

  • If you take the sitar out of this, it's nothing really special. Once again George Harrison save the day.

  • @manco82 That's not true at all.The acoustic guitar is also great as are John's lyrics and the melody of the song.

  • @manco82 I think you are wrong--it is a supercool melody...

  • I had no idea what this song was about...I thought he was just bored and lit a fire...not set her stuff on fire! Lol!

Loved this song when I was 11...fell asleep to it...Forgot about it...Lol!

  • This song gives me Norweigan Wood if you know what I mean......No but seriously I do enjoy it.

  • this album is so cool i can't believe it i can hear this record a million of times and i still love it

  • I love to sing this song... Isn't it good, I knew she would...

  • Im so stoned.

  • doing doing doing dooooiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnggggggg

  • @disappearhere1000 the Stones worshipped the Beatles. Think twice before saying that.

  • John Lennon.<3

  • iss this song about a lesbian?

  • THE BEATLES ARE THE BEST!

  • Such a great song! Does anyone else find Rubber Soul to be a better album than Sgt Peppers?

  • Bob Dylan made fun of this song ("4th time around") but hey, this is so romantic !

  • @zapspace Yes but Norweigan wood is a much better song. The Beatles and Dylan had a mutual respect for each other but Lennon /McCartney are better songwriters

  • @baxtersave96 Let's say: they're different songwriters. John and Paul were inspired by Dylan's lyrics and attitude. Dylan was inspired by the energy and "bluff" of the British invasion guys.

  • What kind of bitch would make John sleep in the bath?

  • @ryan2151993 A lesbian. No one else could.

  • @Huisihuilke Even a lesbian would get in bed with John.

  • @ryan2151993 A female dog.

  • Comment removed

  • @ryan2151993 I can't imagine the kind of bitchery it would take.

  • @ryan2151993

Considering the fact that he burns down her nice norwegian wood house in the morning i think they are even. lol

  • @TheWesiest lol nice

  • @ryan2151993 she didn't make him he chose to sleep there

  • @ryan2151993 lol he was married at the time, chances are he didn't kip in the tub!

  • @ryan2151993 Yoko Ono

  • Comment removed

  • @wheatbull

    @MrSmithNewman

John wouldn't want you guys smack talking Yoko. He loved her very much.

  • mae fang!!do u know her?......john said.."he once had a girl..

    "

  • @ryan2151993 I think he chose to!!!

  • 7 people's birds have flown.

  • This song is beeeautiful, like savoring a delicious and sad memory.

  • This is probably their best song, if not one of them.

  • If you read their descriptions about the meaning of the song, they

    sound like assholes.

  • @moronmarching They were. Well, maybe not George.

  • @AgujaAzulMD I am a George fan - but even he had his moments - tossing drinks at photographers, yelling at the press, cheating on his wife....He at times could be quite the punk. You just need to watch some of the earlier interviews...

  • This is one of my all-time favorites! Please check out my piano cover of it :)

  • Twang! I love the guitars and sitar. Twang!

  • I heard that this song was about a woman who John wanted to have an affair with but she turned out to be lesbian then he wanted to burn the house down because it was made of norweigan wood. :D

  • @thoughtsrmisgivings That is correct"3

  • @StarFoxNerd96 No it's not. It's about him cheating on his wife and not knowing how to tell his wife, so he put it in a song

  • Norwegian wood was an interior design term for a style of home furnishing using natural- finished pine. The song is about the changing roles of women as she takes him back to her house feeds him her wine and then leaves him in the morning.

  • thumbs up if you listened to this after reading (or watching) Murakami Haruki's Norwegian Wood.

  • It's good, but after hearing Kurt Ellings version...

  • It's quality not quantity. 2.06 long and what a wonderful melodic song. A sweet nutshell of a song.

  • Norwegian Wood is an old scouse term for extra-marrital attraction... my grandad says it all the time

  • This song's supposedly about an affair John had.

  • Lighting the fire means lighting up the joint.

  • Dudes, Norwegian wood is a type of cannibus

  • @Richard2003 that was obviously named after this song... dude. -___-

  • いい曲です。シタールの隠し味も効いてます!love you toなんかとは比べ物にならないですねw ラバーソウルの中では、迷って三番目くらいに好きです。 中2 ケラ

  • i love John's comedic poetry. His poem about Nigel the dog is hilarious.

  • @bseenmedia2 That has to be my favourite poem of all time. I remember analyzing it for an English class and it seemed to disturb the teacher.

  • "So I lit a fire" I always assume he refers to arson.

  • Beat song on Rubber Soul.

  • @lob287 but what does it have to do with wood from another country? Aaahhhhh I'm so confused bow

  • Classic, he burns down her house at the end!

  • The song is about a one night stand that wasn't. The woman is being a bit of a cock tease, inviting him back to her place, giving him wine, and then ultimately saying "Well, I've got to work in the morning. Time to turn in." Lyrics: I once had a girl, or should I say, she once had me - "had" meaning she pulled one over on him. This is why some suggested the woman in question was a lesbian.

  • I just don't get how this has anything to do with an affair?

  • @bassclarinetprincess It clearly says" I once had a girl" and then it says "And then she said it's time for bed " How much clearer can John be?

  • this song is about a love affair, just listen to the lyrics. lol

  • This song had grown the wish in me to buy a sitar.

And i did... it's really a magic instrument.

  • @namaste91

awesome! how much did the sitar cost? I love playing this song on my 12 string acoustic, but a sitar would be awesome too:)

  • Well, I heard that originally it was "Isn't it good, I knew she would", but apparently it didnt go well with their producer at that time and so Paul replaced it with the first thing that fit. Namely, "Norwegian Wood".. i am not sure how true this myth is though

  • This is my all time favorite Beatles Song - with while my guitar gently weeps a very close second place.

  • My band Chandrama just posted a video on our channel, a cover of George's "It's All Too Much" with sitars and things on it, and sung in Nepali. The Beatle's organization was super easy to deal with on the licensing approval. We hope George would have approved. You can see it on our channel, and please do.

  • For me, this is the absolute best Beatles song. The first time I heard it I was totally paralyzed because of his... Greatness. It doesn't bring a grin on my face (for example, all you need is love does that everytime) but it calms me in an incredible way. For me, the text is -sorry- unimportant, it's something in the tune. This sound is so deep... So huge... So relaxing. The whole world stands still if I hear it, I am completely hypnotized. I just LOVE it. Thank you, Beatles. Thank you.

  • This bird has flown...............

  • I meant to write go Tim McGraw!

  • And the good music is country music! Go Tim Magraw!

  • @RazorbackABH Well that is your opinion. You think it is terrible. Others think it is great. Since, music is subjective. None of us are correct.

  • Sorry if I offended anybody. I just looked this up because I'm supposed to learn it for guitar. Again, sorry!

  • Ummm... Sorry if I offended anybody, but to me this song just makes no sense... Sry... Also, please stop sending me mean messages!

  • @ShrimpyJess97 no one really knows what its about besides the beatles themselves.. their intent was to make people relate it to their lives in some way and if you can do that at least.. your a beatles fan.

  • @ShrimpyJess97 the lyrics are self explanatory.

a one night stand. (more or less)

  • razorback,shrimpy,lob287,u guys or whatever u are ,are musically impaired.....i'm with msleodicprio101.........

  • @shrimpy

    @razorback

Music of this generation? As in rap? That is not music. Do you wanna know what real music is? This song. The Beatles. Don't come on here making comments about how 'bad' it is; because you wouldn't know real music if it hit you in the face.

  • razorback,shrimpy and lob287 are musically impaired.....i'm with msleodicaprio101

  • @msleodicaprio101 I listen to a lot of rap and hip hop and still love The Beatles and a lot of other bands. I just listen to everything actually, I don't want to have a narrow point of view when it comes to music.

  • @chyo1 Yeah, so do a lot of people, I don't have anything against that. I just have something against people saying how bad this song is or The Beatles. Real music has meaning. Not rap about girls' boobs or getting high. Granted there are some rap songs with meaningful lyrics, but I think anyone will agree that the majority does not, as is with most music these days, unfortunately.

  • This. Is. Terrible. I don't know about you guys but I'm from THIS generation!

  • @RazorbackABH This generation is gay :)

  • Sorry, I'm just not an oldie.

  • Horrible. Who listens to this junk anyway?

  • People who actually have brains nd just don't follow wat the media tells us too like

  • This certainly gave me "Norwegian Wood."

  • I know this is going to sound blasphemous to most Beatles fans but I think this song would sound better without the sitar..

  • Does anyone know what brand of acoustic guitar John plays on this song?

  • @MrBuc128 A Gibson J160e. Perhaps you've seen pictures of it.It has a sunburst finish and two knobs volume and tone I think. He also used this guitar for I Feel Fine . The guitar he uses for Give Peace a chance in bed with Yoko is also a J160e but that one has a natural finish. Also a unique feature of this guitar is the pickup located where the last fret would be before the sound hole.

  • @lob287 Wow that is a shit load of information.I appreciate your knowledge. I do know what guitar it is that you are referring to I have seen John use it.

  • Burn that house down john!

  • sooooo...... why the fuck wasn't this a single?!?!

  • this is my ringtone:)

  • probably the best song ever written.

  • @sethtastical I am so glad u said that! Literally one minute ago I brought up the lyrics and read them as the song played, and all the while I had the hugest grin on my face, cus it's so damn good, Norwegian Wood x

  • @gunslinga19 hell yeah!

  • love

  • ชอบมากเลยค่ะ @THAILAND

  • Lennon's hair looks amazing, and The Beatles are the best band ever. This song is fantastic.

  • I <3 You Paul McCartney!!!!

  • I only have 2 favorite Beatles songs.

    1. I Want To Hold Your Hand

    2. every other Beatles song mashed up together so i dont have to say which songs i like the most and least.

  • Oh my god bye5225 just called them Aussie.

  • Is it just me or does Pauls hair look amazing on the cover of the Rubber Souls album ;)...Love you Paul

  • this song gives me norwegian wood. :3

  • @happyface4444 I LAUGHED SO FUCKING HARD.

  • Excellent tunes! Too bad English and Aussies are a bunch of wankers!

  • this is MUSIC, REAL AND PURE MUSIC, do you understand?

  • haha Americans are just plain ignorant. all the best bands are British.

  • @tiddlywinks98712 im American, and i agree. hahaha

  • @Murrtalica lol I was generalising, i've met a lot of cool Americans who are aware and in no way ignorant. its just when you see things (especially American news lol) that just make you think...woah...wierd country. I'm sure you are cool. :)

  • @tiddlywinks98712 the majority of music i listen to is from bands from other country. I have to agree though.

  • @MsRingosGirl The majority of Americans have no idea what any accent sounds like. I get called British on Online games all the time, and I actually AM Australian.

  • they sound kinda british for a bunch of australians

  • @bye5225 LOL... Good one.

  • @1Vic3 your a faggottttt

  • @1Vic3

If they suck then why did you watch one on their videos? Or do you have nothing better to do with your life than to sit and troll on things you dont like :|

  • Simple, honest, beautiful and so human. No other band could do this: translate this simple an idea into such a gorgeous 2 minute song and evoke the feelings that this song does~

  • And, when I awoke, I was alone, this bird has flown.

Maybe I should just light a fire. Should I now, should I, John Lennon?

  • Okay, will someone please explain what this song is about to me? -I get the prostitute part. But thats it.>-<

  • Reporter: And they referred to "Day Tripper" as being about a prostitute...

    Paul: Oh yeah.

Reporter: and "Norwegian Wood" as being about a lesbian.

    Paul: Oh yeah.

Reporter: I just wanted to know what your intent was when you wrote it, and what your feeling is about the Time magazine criticism of the music that is being written today.

...Paul: We were just trying to write songs about prostitutes and lesbians, that's all

  • @SiKxBlAzEr lol!

  • @SiKxBlAzEr not sure where the lesian reference is unless 'norwegian wood' is a word for something else.

and paul would be singing from the perspective of another lesbian. doesn't seem very likely.

  • @SiKxBlAzEr Reporter: what about Eleanor Rigby?

    John: two queers

    lol

  • @SiKxBlAzEr where was that off

    ??

  • @SiKxBlAzEr Is that an excerpt, or just a joke?

  • @SiKxBlAzEr this song wasn't about a lesbian tho... i've read about this song and he was cheating on his wife so he wrote a song about it.

  • with musitions like the beatles why would you listen to anything else
