Final Fantasy VII is the best in the series. Crisis Core, FFVII, Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus FTW! Dirge of Cerberus is the best chapter in VII by the way.

people if you pay attention many of those scenes are taken from dirge of cerberus, and advent children which means it's unlikely this is genuine.
Personally i think one big issue was the sheer size of 7 imagine taking all the gameplay and animations and putting it on nextgen graphics the cost and sheer data size would be quite the feat in game producction eventually budgets would make them have to cut things which everyone would complain about no doubt.

Funny how, in those short scenes from the acual tech demo, the movements of people and cars is alot more realistic then it ever was in Advent Children.

I hate to break it to you all that are soo hopeful... but it will never happen. The original designers of the game are no long with the enix. And they do not plan on coming back. I am a huge FF7 fan myself so I'm not just some ass trying to bring you down. And this trailer is mostly clips taken from the FF7 Advent Children. Now they did make a short trailer of a remake...however that was just to show what the PS3 was able to do. No game play remake has ever been done....

IMPORTANT: It was supposed to be a simple demo to show what the graphics for the PS3 looked like. Square chose FFVII since it was the most popular of their series out of all. They did not mean to make it seem like they were going to make a remake of the game. They don't want to be harrased about the remake of the game. Everyone who made the game to start with are all on different projects now. It was a PS3 Teaser, not a FFVII Teaser. I wish it wasn't true, but there is no sign of a remake.

I think the remake will be launched in 2017 the 20th ann. of ff7. I think that's what enix is waiting for.

My boyfriend is going to freak the fuck out when he hears about this. The graffics are beautiful, more than what I expect for a FF game. This already looks like its going to be a best seller when it comes out. Thumbs up!

IMPORTANT: It was supposed to be a simple demo to show what the graphics for the PS3 looked like. Square chose FFVII since it was the most popular of their series out of all. They did not mean to make it seem like they were going to make a remake of the game. They don't want to be harrased about the remake of the game. Everyone who made the game to start with are all on different projects now. It was a PS3 Teaser, not a FFVII Teaser. I wish it wasn't true, but there is no sign of a remake.

They're making a remake, everyone. Can you not imagine how fun making videogames really is? While hard work and time and time of trial and error, it is great when you finally make something you've worked so hard at that finally hits the hearts of your fans. Fans have been demanding a remake of Final Fantasy VII pretty much since it’s initial release, and today Yoichi Wada, the president of Square Enix, came out and made the remake plans official. Clear your schedules because Final Fantasy VII: Jenova’s Rebirth is slated for a 4th quarter 2012 release. Naturally, the plans are for a PS3 release, but there have been some hints that a version is also in the works for Sony’s next console, though that’s purely speculation.

The remake has been confirmed since August 1st, 2010. It will be on the PS3 and will release in the 4th quarter of 2012.

@TRufos77777 why not get a petition site up and get people to vote on it. then send it in to square enix and let them know that xxxx amount of people want a remake, and this remake would put them through the roof. let them know that the only place for this game to go is to 1st place in the charts

@Ishmal22 i think sqaure enix should look at the value of the game and the poularity. i would bet that they can cover the cost of making the game within the first week of it being sold. after that it's all profit. so long as they dont change the game too much

@vinnievincent85 well, to be fair, the graphics of FFXIII were stunning but that really is all that is good about it, the story and everything else wasn't so great, and lets not get started on the fact that the summons have turned to crap! Shiva does NOT have a sister, Odin can NOT turn into a horse (and with just 4 legs mind you, when his horse had 6 it was closer to the actual horse from mythology which had 8 but now it just has FOUR!? WTF!? ) etc
If Square keeps this up they will lose fans.

there are times where i TRULY wish they would make a remake. After seeing this, I wonder 2 things: 1 - have the makers of the original FFVII ever seen this? and 2 - if they have, WHY THE HELL HAVE THEY NOT ANSWERED THE PRAYERS OF US FANS!! this would be truly remarkable if it was remade...hands down
